I doubt it was marvel fans. If history has shown us anything when it comes to review bombing for marvel films there is a very high chance it's DC fans or people that are anti-disney.

good not great. a lull midway in, and the last act is a tad numbing in spots, but it delivers on the action and simu liu rules. guy makes you wish marvel would make shang-chi an avenger already

 

Really enjoyed this. The choreography was beautiful and the characters were great. Some minor things I could have done without, but overall a great introduction to this cast and I can’t wait for more.

 

Going to be honest, I was really looking forward to this, but was a little let down. The choreography and Tony Leung are definitely my highlights, but a lot of it just didn't hit for me.

Top 5 MCU for me. This film is insane in all of the best ways.

 

The movie was alright. The fight scenes were obviously really good, well shot. I like the cameos throughout the movie. The “villain” was also good compared to alot if other MCU antagonists. I thought the movie seemed a bit long. It’s only 135 mins but it felt like 3 hours to me. The humor was off alot. Didn’t really enjoy the character Katy that much either.

Overall I’d say it was a 7/10. Mid tier MCU.

 

Easily one of the best origin films Marvel have done. Well acted, stunning effects, spectacular choreography, excellent set pieces. Can’t wait to watch it again.

Also Simu Liu is a god damn star.

 

I’m planning on seeing this a few movie times on the big screen.

The music, the choreography, the actual well-written story that had me invested, Tony Leung (chief’s kiss), Simu, Meng’er Zhang (her first acting role if you can believe it), and the mythology. Just pure adventure and fun with some emotion layered through it.

I definitely didn’t see much of the comic Shang-Chi in this, but they rebuilt him in a such a grand fashion that it’s forgivable.

If was also a load of fun to see Trevor Slattery return.
