I need to hear DIAWB material live so I would be very cool with a Microwave addition.

I don’t think so… I think we would see mixed reactions from Bro-Stoked to completely pissed… no in between

I was more so referring to the recent allegations against their bassist…

I think it would be 40% stoked, 40% indifferent, and 20% upset.

More people are familiar with Morrissey than ADTR, and his commentary over the years is way more public knowledge than the ADTR sexual assault awfulness.

EDIT: Def not discounting how gross the ADTR stuff is. I just think the general public is less aware.

I just saw that Louder Than Life replaced NIN with Disturbed. Chicago Nu Metal representing.

Yup, and Deftones replaced with Volbeat. There's gonna be a lot of that going around.

If anyone playing Four Chord, but not Riot wants to make the drive (Menz) that would be cool too!

Agreed - while I'm sorry bands have had to drop for both them and their fans, it's so far been a net positive for my taste. Plus there is a little rush of excitement every time there's a new replacement announcement. Not ideal, but after 2020/21, I'll take all the serotonin I can get.

Yeah, not gonna lie: The little rushes of excitement have been fun. Hah. Definitely a roller coaster of a ride...

For me, the changes have been mostly neutral thus far. My partner is getting clobbered though. Pup and the Pixies were her top two for the entire weekend. I just really hope they replace the Pixies with somebody her speed. She was pretty bummed when they replaced NIN (a band she is "okay" with) for Slipknot (a band she loathes).

it was def a gut punch to lose NIN as i found myself selecting them on my playlists more and more and their last riot set was so great, but im pretty pumped for Slipknot, especially since the only time ive seen them from moderately closes was way back in the year 2000, only saw them one other time from the lawn of an ampitheatre, so looking forward to getting up close to the spectacle.

the trade of pup for envy on the coast is a wash for me, neither are high up on my list. the white lung for clockworks trade was positive wash, as they are both in my mildly excited list, so the needle didnt move much there. Body count was an exciting addition, and morrisey is big freshly butchered greasy nothingburger. 2019's last minute swap was one of the best i could have asked for, so i still think they have a trick or two up their sleeves

What was the 2019 swap? Die Antwoord for Wu-Tang? Or was there another? That was definitely a trade up if that's what you're referring to!

Also: I keep forgetting that Body Count were added!

Maybe they’re thinking of 2018 when Run The Jewels, Weezer, and Taking Back Sunday replaced Blink-182?

People would be more excited if Alkaline Trio or Rise Against were the headliners for Thursday, even if they not as big as Morrissey, they fit way better with the Riot Fest vibe. Besides I don't think they are shitty persons.

Every time I used to get a notification that said somebody "attached a file" I assume it's a relevant update. This meme has changed all that.

The Offspring replacing Limp Bizkit at Blue Ridge Rock Festival the weekend ahead of Riot Fest. Wouldn't be as directly appropriate a replacement for the Pixies as Jane's Addiction, but I would be surprised if Riot didn't at least reach out to see if they were an option...

Not gonna lie. I would really love to see what the process looks like when a band cancels. A documentary or podcast series about festival booking in COVID times would be super interesting to me.
