Weird Al does do festival appearances. I think he’s played Bonarroo before. I also saw him at Festival Supreme about five years back. So I wouldn’t rule him out one bit!

He did Bamboozle once too. I'm not saying it's an impossibility, just that he seems to be fairly selective about it. Riot Fest is way more his audience than Bonarroo or Bamboozle, TBH.

    Oh totally.

But like you, I’m also a huge fan, so that’s just me being incredibly optimistic. Haha!

    Give what you can.

Yeah I imagine he'll play at some point. Doubt it'd be this year on such short notice, but these next few weeks are going to be such a clusterfuck of cancellations and additions... might as well try to keep having fun with speculating.

And in the spirit of that, I could see them throwing some more money at Billy Corgan for a Zwan set. I'm pretty sure the original members hate each other- but I bet he could get some stand ins together and play that record.

As odd as it would be, I could see Billy integrating a Zwan song or two into some SP sets. I mean, they played a Zeitgeist era song on their last tour, so maybe it’d be possible

In my experience going to festivals, some of the biggest clusterfuck experiences can be the most fun/memorable. So I'm kinda looking forward to the whole thing...

I remember showing up to day #2 of RockFest in 2013 and gates opening an hour late because Alice Cooper and his crew were still setting shit up for their 1am set which pushed all of the main stage acts back and required a bunch of the bands to move things around.

The Bosstones moved all of their shit to a side stage and played at their scheduled time in a much more crowded, rowdier area. Lagwagon had to move their set from the main stage to a side stage later in the evening - between Biohazard and Sick of it All. to say it was rowdy, intense, and super fun was an understatement. Much more fun than the main stage set would have been.

And then there's the random, spontaneous moments at Fest. Frank Turner covering "Dammit" in the parking lot after his Fest. Paint it Black renting a U-HAUL and playing a spontaneous show in a parking lot at like, 1am that was shut down by cops on horses like, 5 minutes in...

Some of those unplanned things are really part of the fun. Hell, even Blink-182 cancelling last minute in 2018 worked in my favor. They were replaced by three bands I really enjoyed. One of whom I liked far more (Weezer) and another I had been really, really wanting to see (Run the Jewels).

Jane's Addiction would be a FANTASTIC replacement for NIN/Pixies and would fit quite nicely in the Pixies spot on the poster.

Ya for me personally as long as the festival goes on, that's all I can really ask for. Though I do understand that's a lot easier to say when I live here and don't have to make any special arrangements or anything. But I will just be so happy when I can finally walk through those gates, and I really hope that's in 2021 and not 2022

Mostly joking but honestly, radius clause is kind of out the window at this point so would that be the craziest thing that’s happened so far?

dream scenario for me would be for riot to offer refunds for like a week, let all those people get their day of feeling good and they got their due, but then once they close again, announce the absolute sickest list of replacement acts, all the crazy reunions just to re-piss off all those people again with "well if i woulda known who was there i would have kept it!!". sorry home slice, shoulda kept the faith! haha.

Wouldn't be the craziest. But considering that the show at the Aragon isn't sold out and it's not a Riot Fest Presents show... Yeah, it would be weird for that to happen.

If it were a Riot Fest Presents show and it were sold out? Might be a different story.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

Dance Gavin Dance has shows all 4 nights in a row 9/16-9/19 already. I think Tilian's post is about a solo tour.

Well clearly they are out this year, but DGD would be a cool add in my opinion and is a band that hasn't played that would make a lot of sense. It's the kind of act that I would love to see booked because I wouldn't pay to go see them on their own, but I do enjoy them casually

Hah. I dunno. I think they might open up refunds again if enough people legit complain (and by complain, I really do think e-mail is the way to go). But that's definitely not happening until they announce those new bands.

As a sidenote, I'm still really amazed at how much people in general seem more pissed about Morrissey being added than NIN/PIxies dropping.

For anyone concerned, it certainly doesn’t look like Devo’s dropping

In other random replacement news unrelated to Riot Fest: SlamDunk had to drop Escape the Fate and Pennywise (the latter of which is COVID-related). Replaced by Skindred and Anti-Flag, respectively. The Anti-Flag announcement dropped today.

Wild to see some of these changes happening on such short notice.

This is good news! Again: I think the fact that some bands are flying in for a single date versus touring for a week or two is making a difference.

A Day to Remember replaced Deftones while Slipknot replaced NIN at Welcome to Rockville. I would doubt it but is there a possibility of ADTR being one of the “multiple bands” RF was referring to even though they have a show here in October?

I think people would be upset at ADTR being added as they would Morrissey

LTJ, Hot Mulligan, Senses Fail and Hawthorne Heights I assume will get added at the minimum. Not sure who of the Pixies size would work
