I love this band and how prolific they are. If it weren’t for the pandemic we probably would have the new album already. Also it seems like they’re only getting better and better with every new song. Truly the best band going right now, they are on a role.

 

Based on Max’s stories they’re playing another outdoor show tonight somewhere in the desert

edit - he’s posting videos of Mega Bog setting up, so Big Thief may not be playing but Buck is there too so they probably are

 

Looks like it was a relatively private event in Joshua Tree. Big Thief, Mega Bog, and an unknown duo played.

"Saw Big Thief at a secret show out in the desert Sunday night, there were like 50 people there under the full moon. Magical vibes. Their new material is like instant classic country/folk songs and everyone was completely bewitched. They soundchecked with a song called 12,000 Lines which made everyone shut the fuck up and cry a little--sounded like one of the best songs Lucinda forgot to write. Then later I overheard that evidently they recorded 40 songs for their next album but are only gonna use 25 of them... ? Anyway the show was amazing then after the music was done we were singing songs around a bonfire and someone busted out a ketamine nebulizer and a DMT vape and the night became the day and I'm still recovering lol"

We are not worthy. Seeing them twice in 3 days. My first two concerts since the 1975 last January. (I got to see Jeff Tweedy perform at my hometowns Drive In last September but besides that).

 

They just announced that proof of vaccination/negative test in 48 hours and a mask will be required on their tour.

so glad to hear this. Was the first concert I’m attending in 18 months and was getting a little anxiety. This helps with that.

Merch store has two new items- a mug with the dragon design and a shirt with the little things artwork.

Still no hint of an album release date so that summer estimate must have gotten pushed back. I really hope we at least get it this year

 

Wouldn’t be surprised it’s announced this week to coincide with the start of the tour.

 

Seeing this band for the first time at Governors Ball which...will be an odd vibe for them. Nonetheless, seems like they are playing a ton of unreleased stuff which will be great to hear.

 

There’s also a lot of new promos that have been going up. I feel like it has to be any day now.
