My girlfriend and I finished Cheers tonight. We started it back when Covid was going to “last 2 weeks”. 11 seasons of a tried and true comedy while undergoing a global crisis made the show feel like a real comfort and we are going to miss it.

 

I really liked Boardwalk Empire overall. Tbh it’s rare that I find anything HBO related that I don’t like.

 

We did this too, and then moved on to Frasier. I was honestly shocked by how much I ended up loving these shows, especially Frasier.

oh yes. I started with that and then found my way to Billions. Think I’ve watched the first two seasons of Succession a very unhealthy amount of times lol

I started rewatching the Wire last night. It’s been about 6 years

 

Both of these shows rule. Currently doing the same thing with The Golden Girls, which gives similarly reassuring feelings to watch

 

Someone needs to create a reality show that follows people actually living their daily lives in these tiny homes. Enough of just the pictures of the set up on IG. Let’s see how people really behave in these things.

I watched one of those HGTV like shows once where people were having tiny homes designed and built for them and one couple was the WORST. So privileged and had to have been born into money because the woman was a fashion designer I've never heard of and the man was a musician I've never heard of. They were insufferable and i don't believe for a second they lived in that house full time ever. I was hate watching by the end

 

There was one episode where the kids room (they were 4-5 years old) had to go through the parents room to get to their room and they couldn’t even fucking stand up in their room they had to crawl into it and lay down or sit down at all times because the room was only about 4” tall. It was completely insane and all I could think was, “this doesn’t work now, how the hell will this work when the kids are 14-15???” Like, the room was literally 10x10x4 it looked like and had room for a mattress on the floor and a toy box. Cant remember where their clothes were offhand. Just pure insanity in that design.

Oh and the dad “had” to have a baby grand piano in the house because he was a “musician” so that thing took up about 1/3 the living room space with no way to move it around or get it out of the way because it’s a fucking piano lmao

 

I think after one shower I'd be like no I can't do this haha

 

Just finished binging Gravity Falls. Amazing ending. The show was pitched as a kid version of a combination of X-Files, Twin Peaks, and Simpsons and I can totally see it. The mix of cartoonish humor, serious moments, and plot twists is perfect.

 

OMG THIS IS THE SAME EPISODE I WAS REFERENCING

 

I still want this.

 

Finished the first season of The Other Two. Absolutely hilarious stuff

 

Reminiscence is pretty fucking boring :/

 

There was a tweet I saw a few days ago that said, “what if they made Inception but really bad and dull?” And it seems like that’s the consensus on Reminiscence

 

all the dialogue in Reminiscence felt like it was written by a robot that had been fed noir movies haha

 

Yeah I’m pissed I wasted so much time on that.

 

Paper tigers is next

 

McCartney 3, 2, 1 was solid. It's always pleasant to spend time with Paul. But Rick Rubin honestly seems like he does not know one single thing about music and it literally had me yelling at the screen at points. And Paul's such a genial conversationalist that he keeps things right at Rubin's level most of the time: kiddie-pool shallow.

so Keanu saves the people on the bus, fine, but the bus then explodes while crashing into an airplane and they just don't even mention it again at all. like ok I'll concede that maybe there weren't any passengers onboard but what about the flight crew? they're just expendable in this situation? what the fuck are we even doing here?
