Echoing the background music thoughts. this is just super chill and easy to throw on this morning at work. I can see myself reading a book to this on a beach and having a fantastic time.

I'm just now listening, and so far I like the first song a lot more than the three singles. It's got a chill 90s vibe to it and I'm enjoying that. As for the rest of the album? We'll see how it goes on first listen.

I like this album a lot more than I thought I would. Still not big on Solar Power but this is great music for sunbathing.

This is my take, not expecting to go back to this much.

really mad she said “most cocaine of anyone I ever met” when anyone I ever knew would have rhymed. Everything else doesn’t really get any emotion out of me.

this is fun, and mostly pretty good, but i don't think it's something i'll listen much to in the fall or winter. wish i had this way earlier this summer.

The "Don't let Jack Antonoff produce this artist I like!" thing on Twitter is so fucking insufferable.

mannn i need to see her live. she seems like, especially with this album, she'd be a great festival performer. wish she was on Firefly.

Like, I get that it's easier to blame the producer when an artist you like makes music you don't enjoy, but...the blame for that probably rests more with the artist, the songs they wrote, and the direction they wanted to take than it does with the person/people they chose to collaborate with. I get being frustrated when an artist keeps working with the same producer album after album, rather than mixing things up and venturing outside of their comfort zone a bit. But it also speaks volumes that a lot of these artists keep going back to Jack. Clearly, he's a good collaborator. People who say shit like "Keep [X artist I like] away from Jack Antonoff because he'll ruin them!" have zero faith in the artists they purport to enjoy, and are stripping agency away agency from those artists.

i would agree about most producers but he has writing credits on 3/4 of the songs here. you said blame the artist and the songs they wrote … but he was directly involved in writing the majority of these songs.

it’s possible that both the artists and jack both suck
