Rays are interesting because they’ve handled the really bad teams with almost no real issues (except going 2-5 against the Rangers). They have also handled themselves well against a lot of the teams over .500

But their struggles with some middling teams is what’s confusing.

What’s encouraging about the Rays/Orioles matchup is that they have not just beat the bad pitching, but have beat up on two of their pitchers that most of the league hadn’t figured out (Means/Fry), so the lineup can get hot really fast against some teams’ better pitchers.

 

We’re doomed

 

In all reality, the offense can be streaky but they’ve also remained in the top 5 in production across both leagues most of the year. And they’re doing well plugging and playing a bunch of pitching rejects and perennial AAA arms.
