Dylan was literally touring the west coast in April and was in Europe through all of May. Being filmed, almost constantly, for a very well-known documentary, Dont Look Back. There's about two weeks when he wasn't playing any shows in mid-April, it's possible he went back to New York at that time, but according to biographers and websites that attempt to document everything about Dylan's life, he was vacationing in California with his future wife Sara during those weeks. These accounts of his time with Sara existed long before the current allegations and weren't made up by "Redditers in 2021."

That doesn't mean nothing happened to this woman when she was a child and that doesn't mean Dylan is innocent. But it is possible to look at the currently known facts and still be a good little lib.

 

I mean, whilst we appear to know he wasn’t there at the specified time, is it not possible that she just got the dates wrong? It was 50 years ago after all.

 

He also… wasn’t in Europe in all of April and May. His tour that’s being used as an explanation is 11 days long.

I’m seeing the same copy/paste bullshit all over every post about this online, so it’s hard for me to take it as good faith. I’m as big a Dylan fan as anyone on this site (go check the official thread), it would break my heart if this were true, but it’s helpful to check yourself before automatically dismissing someone who is accusing someone of fucking pedophilia.

 

Shiiiiiit, Dylan. I’m not even sure how much of ‘65 he remembers, so I’m not expecting much of a response on this. But, damn.

Is it possible that the timelines don’t add up and the story has holes in it? Sure, but trauma also has negligible impacts on memory, so the abuse may have occurred at a different point in time. Not to mention that pedophilia wasn’t exactly uncommon in rock and roll at the time.

 

Believe survivors, for fuck's sake. The amount of whataboutery surrounding this story makes me sick. It is indeed possible that this didn't happen due to the factors @cherrywaves mentioned above but I know who I would believe in this scenario.

 

When presented with an allegation of this nature, rather than ask "how can this be false?", it is always far safer to ask "how can this be true?". Dylan's alibi is not watertight, no matter what the detectives on r/bobdylan claim.

 

Regardless of this scenario, so many survivors have been silenced. Let's support the people brave enough to come forward instead of defaulting to favouring/defending the people in privileged positions who have been protected/enabled for so long. That's not being "a good little lib", it's being a decent fucking human.

Ehhh even if the Sharon stone story is fake this pedophilia story should be taken seriously and should be taken as the truth. We’ve been down this road before, and as talented and loved as bob Dylan has been we must believe the victim.

I always find it hard to believe that assholes as big as Bob Dylan don’t engage in shady behaviors. And yes, BD was a friggin jerk.
