I wish there wasn't studio interference with Wonder Woman. That movie would have been so much better without the generic villain fight at the end.

Would be my number one, if not for that.

 

yeah the ending of WW drags it down a lot

 

Yeah I loved this. Definitely tops my DCEU list. Not even close. Everything about Weasel had me in stitches.

it's weird how you can see hundreds of people slaughtered but Yondu kills one birb and I get upset haha
I like how they had Harley mainly do sidequests to tone her down, still can't believe she had a bazooka and crushed a man with her thighs then showed feet
Ratcatcher 2 and Polka Dot Man were so great
Idris was perfect
I understand why they went with Sly over Funches after seeing this, he probably wasn't even acting
Starro was such a perfect James Gunn thing

only thing is I know people have mentioned this before but movies are too dark now , in terms of lighting not emotion, and I couldn't make out like half of what was going on in the fortress which had so much visual stuff

 

This was so good. I wish some of the characters from the opening stayed though.

Gotta love the people haughtily coming into the thread to let us know that they, unlike us rabble, are people of refined taste and would never deign to let their eyes touch a comic book movie. Like, good for you. Go post in a thread about something you DO like.

Loved this movie. Margot Robbie is one of the best castings in all of comic book movies, like, ever. Up there with Jackman and Downey, Jr.

 

Rats. Saved The Avengers. Saved The Suicide Squad. Take a bow, rats.

 

I don't know if this was like absolutely incredible like I'd been hearing but it's definitely super fun. The over the top violence was great, the humor was pretty good and Margot Robbie continues to give the best performance in the DCEU

 

Really enjoyed this though I think I liked Birds of Prey slightly more though both are still great as they show what the DCEU could be like or could have been like had different decisions been made earlier.

 

Only more evidence that Squirrel Girl is the hero we truly need.

 

For someone who hates all these movies, you wouldn’t expect phaynes to spend so much energy telling people their ranked tastes are wrong lol

This was a lot of fun, albeit predictable and 20 minutes too long. But definitely amongst the top DCEU movies. The R rating really helped this one.

 

I for sure wanted Captain Boomerang to come back somehow. Jai Courtney was made for that role

Wait, maybe that Man of Steel trailer should be above Shazam? idk.

 

Boomerang dying early was my only real complaint with this. Against all odds I actually liked Jai Courtney in the role and was looking forward to seeing what he’d do with an actually good writer and director behind him. But I get why it made sense to kill him off early.

 

the octopus drumming is peak cinema

 

James Wan being given free reign to go as wild as he wanted to is what made Aquaman so good

 

I’m honestly surprised by the all the aqua man, BOP and Shazam love. I didn’t hate any (well, I didn’t care all that much for BOP) but they weren’t anything I have any true affinity for. I guess that’s how low the DCEU is. All of these films suffer from the 20 minute curse though.

 

BOP is easily my favorite DCEU film

 

I would totally be okay with him just showing up in a third one being like “they stitched me back together” and Harley just saying “yeah okay that checks out”.
