This is incredible - I can't believe they followed up NMG with something just as good.

Least favorite on first listen is Where the Lightning Strikes Twice. I'm glad that was released early on because to me every other song on the album is wayyyy stronger.

Favorites: Literally every track that isn't one of the two aforementioned

Don't get why people are so mid on it. That solo into the final chorus with that yell in the right channel gets my pulse racing.

anyway "crown candy" rules and the chorus of "lightning strikes" is soooo good

Crown Candy is the sort of weird outlier they probably would have cut from DDTM. Works very well in context but the new record has a tighter focus.

 

5 songs in and this is... a lot more of a pop album than I expected lol

 

yeah its basically an indie pop album until the last couple songs
