“Darkside” is sooo good

 

Listening on Apple Music now. I was just able to fast forward to when Tom goes on.

 

That was really enjoyable to listen to. Great Mark/Tom stories throughout the interview.

Cool interview. Some fun little stories. No bombshells or anything but it was really nice to just hear them gab.

 

I have listened to Enema of the State hundreds (if not thousands) of times since 1999, and I just now noticed that there’s this higher second guitar picky thing on the second verse of “Aliens Exist.”

 

i assume the topic of them ever playing together again wasn’t touched on

 

Nope

 

I was tasked to play that part in my high school cover band. I never knew that was there until my friend had me play it and I was like “dude…that’s not a part but it’s cool”. Then he showed me in the recording haha.

 

Mark said let’s hangout or something like that at the end. But there wasn’t really anything to read into.

They also joked about how they are able to not talk to 5 years, and then go pick up the phone and act like nothing happened.

So, Always is just a song from future Mark to future Tom, and vice versa, right? (yes, I just finished the episode and am feeling extra nostalgic)

Fun listen, I totally remember Tom interviewing Mel Gibson about Signs. I might even have that show taped on a VHS somewhere.

 

Enjoyed hearing Mark and Tom go back and forth about inside jokes from when they were kids. They were laughing in a way that was so genuine. Great to hear Mark sound like that.
