Definitely contradicts the pro-Nazi narrative that this site seems to run with when it comes to Matt.

 

I've never dived deep into the allegations. Is someone able to explain to me how Skiba is pro-nazi?

 

He just seems to have a very high interest in WWII history and posts books about it on Instagram. Someone with potential nazi sympathies does spoken word on an Alkaline Trio song from 13 years ago. That’s all I can really think of. Just another example of Chorus being Chorus.

There's a lot of problematic things that are rightfully brought up in that post. But saying he's a bad person because he follows porn stars on instagram or because he supports the military is absolutely ridiculous. Especially since the poster leads with these things instead of something actually problematic, like oh I dunno, the countless ways he's associated with Nazis.

 

the funniest part is when it said he likes Blue Velvet and A Clockwork Orange. Padding the stats a little bit, there's enough legitimately shitty stuff, you don't need that

 

I don’t follow these things closely enough to remember, but haven’t people provided evidence that he’s friends with a literal Nazi?

Punk and Nazism have a long-standing relationship that ranges from legitimate attempts at subversive political statements to legitimate embracing of Nazi ideals, in most cases it’s just attempts to be shocking and offend people and nearly 100% of the time it’s used without much thought or introspection. Skiba pals around with a handful of punk personalities who dabble in or embrace Nazi imagery and he’s never seemed to care when people bring up how fucked up it is.

 

He needs to be more mindful of who/what he platforms.
