I admittedly don't watch much TV, but if The Mandalorian is the best TV has to offer it must be in rough shape. This is coming from someone who enjoys Mando as well.

 

MJ Rodriguez or bust

 

Lovecraft Country was indeed great, and I know people love The Crown and The Handmaid's Tale... but for most noms to go to just three shows is a big dis-service to how vast the TV landscape is right now

 

It was a weird year for TV which is a big part of the streaming domination

But still

 

Lovecraft Country was great and deserves all the nominations it got, especially since it won't be continuing.

But yeah this is how the Emmy's always are, they pick their shows and those shows get nominated/win every year and everyone else just has to be content with a nomination. As the options for things to watch expand, this problem will likely only get worse, as the voters just continue to nominate only the things they've always nominated/things they still watch and don't branch out into anything different.

 

Ted lasso or bust

 

the only thing that's truly bizarre is how they clearly played with the rules to get Ted Lasso, Emily In Paris, Hacks, and Flight Attendant as comedy while I May Destroy You is limited and has 12 episodes haha

I get it though the supporting cast of Hacks and Ted Lasso totes deserved all the awards

 

the shows themselves are the ones who choose how to submit (drama, comedy, limited, etc) but yeah the "rules" are all over the place

Yeah so weird. Like Netflix capitalized on the initial hype BY HAVING A DOC ABOUT IT. Why are seven studios tripping over themselves to set up a movie/TV way after the fact lol? Of course I know the answer.

Hilarious and now as an adult have come to realize they might be my actual number 1 comedy of all time.
