One Sunset is the one I just could never really get into on YOA. Really nondescript track on a record full of personality

Really dig all the other tracks on it y’all are talking about though. Just a really cool larger than life rock record that they always showed hints of (We All Roll Along, Inside Of You), but that I never thought they’d go fully in on

I really don't want to dig that hole back up. My PTSD and age can't handle it:crylaugh:

Same. Definitely the one I skip the most on that album. Tears Won't Cry was my favorite on that one, though I don't see many sharing that opinion.

Same. That one is just "ok" to me for the same reasons.

There was a big, big divide between people that accepted the new FOB sound and those that didn't.

    Also, One Sunset rules.

I was also like a hardcore FOB fan and very immature and hated anyone who talked shit about them.

I have many MANY regrets involving AP.net.....

I guess we'll have to avoid discussing my feelings toward AB/AP :crylaugh:. Fricking love the other post-hiatus stuff, tho. Mania is my favorite album by them.

I totally get your feelings, though. I get that way about a ton of bands.

I found The 1975 before Mania came out and was like "Sorry Wentz, I'm outta here"

    I love everything before Mania.

That song is so good, would love more in that style from them.

I feel like YAO and XOXO are doing two very different things, too. Not saying we can't rank away, but this is clearly a much bigger pitch for radio and playlist play than YAO was. I'm interested to see how my memories will be associated with this one! I love building relationships to albums.

Don't get me wrong, I still love FOB. I just grew out of the "I WILL DESTROY YOU IF YOU SHIT TALK MY BOYS" mindset....I was 22 then...times have changed.

Do not miss AP’s intense aversion to bands growing and trying new things. I honestly think it was a big part in harming the career trajectories of Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack, and Thursday.

I can assure you that Fall Out Boy's success had absolutely nothing to do with what some users were saying on absolutepunk. Also...they were bigger than ever post-hiatus?

    Bigger but arguably not better.

Post-hiatus FOB was definitely no where near as good as pre-hiatus FOB.

    no. but ok.

EDIT: I just realized you said arguably. Never-mind then. It is definitely not a fact that pre-hiatus was better.

I said their career arc. They got mercilessly shit on for their best album (including getting heckled at their own shows) and went into hiding for years. And when they came back they weren’t doing anything remotely as ambitious, even if it was very successful. Shitty reactionary fans changed the course of their career.

  23. I thought this thread was about The Maine. I like The Maine. They don't have a Pete Wentz, y'know, because Pete Wentz is a pedophile.
