I can’t help but think Mark will beat the fuck out this cancer and go on to write the best music of his career.

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

Knowing Mark he's probably gonna write like a hundred songs during this, but like any band of a certain magnitude, it's not coming out if they can't actively support it. I really feel no rush for the next one right now, he just needs to get better.

Again I didn’t mean to be rude! I was just remaining positive and stoked on Mark’s future input after all this. Hope everyone knows I think his health is #1 over everything.

After thinking about it. There’s nothing wrong with remaining positive about Mark’s situation and thinking he has the best material to come.

Definitely not, but your original post was worded a bit strangely, and people here misinterpreted it as you saying “after Mark receives a positive cancer test,” and not Mark receiving positive news about his test. No worries though, we know what you meant. It’s all good.

I think we’re all rooting for Mark here.

I try and post something positive about my favourite musician and then people shit on me. This is why this site is no longer for me haha. Mark ❤️

I was at Dana Farber for mine and I was always kinda tickled that in the span of riding the elevator, grabbing a drink at the cafe, and then doing vitals, the doc would walk in with all of my scans and bloodwork already. Like, how? lol

    Things have changed.

It's important to remember that he owes fans nothing, especially not up-to-the-minute updates on his cancer. It's easy to think of celebrities as people we have an actual relationship with, but give the man some privacy as he and his family deal with this life-changing event. If he wants to share more, he will. I don't think silence is an indictment that something is wrong, though.

Ultimately I think people have only good intentions, but boundaries people! Don't tag his wife and kid in Instagram posts about his cancer, don't ask him on social media when he found out he had cancer and what kind of cancer it is. Please, god, don't DM his friends on social media asking for updates. Just let him navigate this in private if he chooses to.

Oh he owes us nothing at all, we just care about the guy, that’s all.

For sure. Not knocking that. This is a broader response to some of the stuff I've seen, like on Twitch when he said "let's not talk about cancer stuff" and immediately every question was still about his cancer. I just don't think being reminded 24 hours a day by fans that he has cancer is the healthiest, best way to deal with something as earth-shattering as this.

I know I’m a bit late, but absolutely devastated to hear the news about Mark. I wish him all the best. I dont think there is a celebrity that has influenced me more in my lifetime. Going all the way back to the original himynameismark podcast days. Anyone remember the wipe saddle? (Just to lighten the tone)

This is extremely true. Someone close to me has been going through it for the past 2 years and one of the hardest parts emotionally has been the constant, constant, constant reminder of sickness from friends and family who of course mean well. When you have cancer, all anyone talks to you about is your cancer. For years. It's rough

I don't get the dick joke or why people would be offended by that?
