Can we just have Gale Weathers be the mastermind in scream 5. Her career is down the toilet because no one cares about the Woodborough murders anymore and she is getting desperate so comes up with a plot against Sydney to jump start her career. That was idea since Scream 2

 

Watched 2-4 this week. 3 is definitely the stinker of the bunch but it gave us Parker Posey being very Parker Posey. 4’s twist is fun and the villain is one of the best of the series.

 

I rewatched them all last week and was surprised to find Scream 3 was no longer my least favourite! I’ve disliked it all my life but this time around I preferred it to 2, which at one point I liked more than the first!

 

Wish it was soonerrrrr

 

Scream is like horror movie Inception, each movie is another layer.

I’ll be disappointed if they don’t somehow call awareness or nod to the series in the next movie hahah

 

I am so stoked for the next Scream movie. Literally some of my favorite series of movies.

They announced that in November, but hell yeah @ it being done! Wonder when we’ll get a trailer

 

Would be a perfect trailer to be on Halloween Kills.

 

11 minute opening scene. stoked.

 

I wonder if they’re going to retcon any of the previous installments? I already know that they’re bringing back Deputy Judy (why?) but I have a feeling some things might be retconned here.

Either way, I’m mega bummed there’s no Kirby. I wanna believe there’s a 15% chance she’s a surprise at the end or something but probably not.

 

I reallllly don’t see this happening unless the reason is to align with some of Wes and Kevins original ideas that were dumped due to script leaks. Outside of that, I don’t see Bettinelli-Olpin/ Gillett changing anything.

 

Just checked out the IMDB page for the first time in a while… Seeing characters with the last name “Meeks” makes me very, very excited. Wondering what the relation is.

 

No way are they retconning anything, the beauty of Scream is how it’s maintained one consistent story and I can’t think of any reason to change that

 

yeah I would be bummed if they retconned anything... well except Scream 3 they can wipe that shit clean for all I care

 

I have a feeling this movie might be a soft reboot with original cast members. The producer said they didn’t name it Scream 5 because they didn’t want people to think it was the fifth film. It’s just the fifth installment. Makes me think it might not follow the story of Scream 4 at least.

Well, if it’s IMDB - you gotta take it with a grain of salt.

 

Yup that’s true. It’s just oddly specific.
