I'd guess its more about creating major opportunities for other companies to make stars out of their castoffs, giving them all the possible depth they'd need as they return to touring, and also...at a certain point...cutting the fat to this level kind of thins out what they even have left to sell.

another theory is they have internal plans for a new show to replace 205 that wouldn't theoretically debut for 6 months.

Depends whose contract is up then. I mean, the only one I can see of any note is Sami Zayn; most of the roster re-signed 5 year deals in 2018 or 2019...so its almost hard to imagine its a roster thing. I guess a bunch of ROH/IMPACT have contracts expiring around then, so certainly this is possible talent there, but, nobody big is moving the needle there.

Only other thing I can imagine is if somehow Daniel Bryan was gonna jump ship from WWE or there's some other big name whose contract is expiring around then
