Drew brought this up in regards to the Free Throw/Dogleg/Charmer/Bad Luck. tour but it sucks how even after the year we’ve had in regards to racial issues in the US and diversity issues that lots of tours are still completely white male dominant.

The band Ganser has been posting about the difficulties they face getting on a national tour recently after being thrown off a tour package they were booked on because the support was “double booked” and it just sucks that these all white male tours still happen when bands that aren’t white and male are struggling to get the same opportunities.

 

There’s nothing to be accountable about with this, but seeing Foo Fighters bring Dave Chappelle of all people on stage last night (or sometimes within the last few days?) to sing “Creep” will get a side eye from me. Maybe it’s incorrect guilt by association, but idk a bit disappointing

What's the issue with Chapelle? I wasn't aware of anything he'd done.

 

i don't know if he personally has done or said anything, but he's been spending considerable time with people who have said and done moronic shit lately (Kid Rock being the latest if I recall), and I believe he was having comedy shows and such during the height of the pandemic when most things were cancelled (and his crowds were all mask-less).

Unless I'm mis-remembering, nothing significantly hurtful or harmful, but he's been grazing around the edges of questionable behavior / questionable or downright terrible people seemingly more and more lately and helping give a platform to those types of people when it was just be easier to not do that.

 

He complains about cancel culture, refers to LGBTQA people as “alphabet people,” makes fun of trans people, hangs out with known abusers like Louis CK. It’s all super disappointing. I used to love his comedy. But he’s turned into a bitter old man.

I don’t get the chapelle hang out wannabe band photos. Other than corny, it comes across as trying to flaunt that he’s hanging out with known shitheads as another fuck you to “cancel culture”
