It’s kind of weird to see Tina Turner and The GoGO’s (from the 80’s) get inducted the same time as Foo Fighters and Jay-Z who are more 90’s and 2000’s artists in my mind. I don’t care too much about Grammy’s and Hall of Fame stuff for pop culture, but good for all the artists. Also, with suggesting diversity, most of these artists had their careers during times when diversity wasn’t such a priority and it was sort of the best rose to the top. So good for them for overcoming whatever obstacles they had.

Interesting to see if William Goldsmith is included and if he attends the ceremony if he is. He still holds a a grudge against Dave for re-recording the drum parts for The Colour and the Shape.

I’m pretty sure Franz and Dave are on good terms.

William - probably not. His recent social media posts have kind of hinted that he respects Dave. But I wouldn’t expect anything more than maybe an acknowledgment.

    Examples?

Last I heard is he blamed Dave for why Sunny Day Real Estate never finished their reunion album a couple years ago.

He posted this response (not said by him) in April on his Facebook.

Why the fuck would either of these guys be included? They were in the band for a cup of coffee 25 years ago. That's like the Tennessee Titans inducting Randy Moss into the team Ring of Honor because he played 8 games with them.

do you pay attention to the hall at all? most of the time it's current members and founding members.

I don't think Franz or William will be included. Neither played instruments on record (save for William playing two songs on the Colour and the Shape). I could be wrong, but I don't see them being included. Maaaaaybe William.

I always imagine it’s be current members and those who played a memorable role.

Dave, Nate, Pat, Taylor, Chris and Rami.

All of these guys have had also been part of successful bands outside Foo Fighters too which is pretty cool and maybe adds a little more justification (Nirvana, Sunny Day Real Estate, Germs, Alanis, No Use For A Name/Me First and The Gimmie Gimmies, Wallflowers to name a few).

I don’t think the average fan would remember the contributions of the other guys.

  15. That is my ranking almost exactly lmao I'd move Wasting Light and Concrete & Gold down a single spot each. Otherwise, good stuff

Yeah that ranking is baffling lol

Sonic Highways and Concrete & Gold ranked higher than Echoes?
I really like There's Nothing Left to Lose, but #1?? Above Colour?? Nahhhh lol

  19. There is Nothing Left to Lose is #1 for sure, those top three are spot on (and I don't feel like that's a particularly hot take)

I agree with There Is Nothing Left to Lose at number 1, but that is the only thing I agree with on that ranking. Haha
