All you single player mode people probably haven't realised this, but Halo is about to change the battle pass game for the better

 

Of all the things in that multiplayer reveal, that was actually one that stuck out the most. Having it both be something that NEVER expires AND letting you just buy old seasons is a huge bonus IMO. Plus getting rid of the lootbox stuff from Halo 5 and having a good chunk of the customization actually being from doing things in-game, I genuinely think they're on track to make the best Halo game in over a decade

 

It is huge. I really hope it forces others to follow.

 

I really am surprised more companies don't keep their old battle passes in, only thing I can think of is maybe it complicates the code too much? If there is no logical reason for not selling old battle passes they're essentially throwing away free money tbh

 

They care big about shot term sales rather than stable long term sales because quarterly reports and irrational stockholders

 

That's true, I just find it odd that they still can't have the current battle pass as well as all the past ones still on sale. There's always going to be a large amount of people who will buy the new battle pass day one anyway haha

 

It'll honestly extend the lifespan of the multiplayer. When I found out I missed my chance to play as Price in Warzone, for example, my desire to play it significantly decreased. Letting you pick any season you want even after it's "over" is a really smart business move IMO

 

I was working hard on unlocking a skin recently in Apex that I really wanted and then my pet died unexpectedly and I wasn't able to get it because well...my fucking pet died and and I was (still am) horribly upset and depressed. Sucks that I can't just buy the fucking stupid cosmetic I want instead of it being locked behind a limited time battle pass bullshit or whatever. I almost uninstalled the game because it just seemed so fucking gross.

 

I’m sorry man. It’s one of the worst feelings.

But yeah you’re right. Which is why this is such big news.

Returnal is such a cool, fun game.

 

I really like it, but it's a game that feels like there's no end in sight. Which for me, personally, is a turn off. Haven't played in a while for that reason.

 

yeah I can see that, I'm usually not a fan of these kinds of games, I like a clear sense of progression but I think the world is interesting enough that I want to keep exploring it and the gameplay seems fun enough to not get bored. Plus I'm hoping as I get further in I'll still feel like I'm making progress and I know there's an end to it at least ha.

 

I love/hate Returnal. It feels like a game I’ll never finish because I get frustrated by it so easily. BUT I desperately want to see it through to the end.

just got my ass kicked by the first boss. Didn't realize the astronaut gave me a second chance and got hit as soon as I was back because I wasn't paying attention.

 

See, I haven’t even made it to the first boss. Lol.

 

it's a right ball ache to get back to the boss to fight it again as you have to find it again without losing all your health and regaining items/weapons good enough to try.

 

You need to run and fiddle around more for at least a week before you start getting serious about beating the game tbh

 

I don’t disagree. But dying over and over again isn’t necessarily a motivating thing for people of my personality!

Not expecting anything new in terms of announcements or anything, but I'm excited to hear an update on Hellblade 2.

Would be cool to hear a brief update on where Fable is at, but I'm definitely not expecting that.

 

I think they are just going to explain more about the games and possibly an updated trailer (with gameplay?!??) of Hellblade 2.
