I would have put a Satoshi Kon film on there. Spirited Away is far from my favorite Miyazaki, but it is cool to see it so high on a lost like that.

Mulholland Drive is currently the #1 trending film on Amazon Video, can't be a coincidence.

Looks like David Lynch isn't cool anymore.

I got to see Mulholland Drive in cinema on 35 this summer. It was really a great experience. You could tell everyone was in love with the film.

The Diner scene in Mulholland Drive is one of the most powerful scenes in a film that I have seen. That is the most impact ful moment of his career I believe. It's spellbounding.

That and the Blue Velvet Frank Booth scene

I've seen about half of these films and own even more than half. Memento is my all-time favorite film so nice to see that in the top 25, Eternal Sunshine is in my top 5 so nice to see that ranked high. I like Mulhulland Drive, but No. 1? Wow.

No Country for Old Men is absolutely fantastic. Guess I can't complain about the No. 10 spot. Inside Llewyn Davis I just saw last fall and have probably watched 5 times in the past year. Absolutely love it but no way would I rank it that high. Glad to see the Lives of Others on here. Phenomenal foreign film.

Also, one of my favorite films and probably the most underrated film I've ever seen is listed on here: The Assassination of Jesse James. Just a phenomenal film.

Overall, a lot of GREAT films on this list, but mostly, this list is ALL over the place.

Inside Llewyn Davis is the best Coen Brothers film I think.

I still love Wolf but when I walked out of the theater after seeing it for the first time, I had a genuine uneasiness in me over the thought of money and materialism.

Fuck, I almost forgot: the single most underrated (under-recognized?) personal performance of this time period. As someone who generally dislikes SciFi, this film was truly phenomenal (I just rewatched it for the first time in 6 years tonight).

I liked Cairo: Nest of Spies a lot but heard meh things about the sequel. It was worth seeing?

The first is better, but the second is still good.

  13. Had no idea City of God gets hate. That movie blew me away. The DVD I watched also had a solid documentary featuring interviews with kids who kill for Nikes. Scary.

  14. Holy Motors is that good? I haven't looked at the whole list yet but I surely hope it doesn't have 4 Wes Anderson films on it.

Holy Motors is insane. Really need to watch it again. Been almost 4 years.

  16. I love a lot of movies on this list but I'm awfully perplexed by some of the ordering decisions for the more comparable films. For example, I don't think Zodiac should be that far ahead of The Social Network, nor should Ratatouille be so far behind Inside Out. Naturally, I'd be much more okay with this list if it was the "Top 100 - Unranked," but there's still a handful of films I'd personally boot off the list as well as a large sum I haven't seen yet.

Holy Motors is one of the better picks here. leagues better than plenty on this list

I watched Holy Motors again a few months again and it is still the fascinating, bizarre work it was back then.

Why shouldn't Wes Anderson have multiple films on the list? He is one of the few directors who has managed to create his own genre.

I may have overlooked it being on the list, but I didn't see Collateral on there. It's better than half of the movies on that list, at the very least.

It terms of comedies missing from this, I'd say there's arguments for "Borat," "High Fidelity," "Best in Show" and even "Wet Hot American Summer."

Some big movies missing are "Punch Drunk Love," "Kill Bill" and some important documentaries like "Taxi to the Dark Side" and "Restrepo." Good to see "The Art of Killing" get love though.

Did not notice Punch Drunk Love was missing. Seems like a huge omission. Is it not widely perceived as a masterpiece yet? Is it not held in the same regard as There Will Be Blood and The Master? Maybe because it does not appear as prestige-y.

Or maybe because it's underwhelming and PTA's worst film?
