Lol, yeah I thought about that after Your Milkshake brought up modding on the pc. It's basically like they're expecting us to buy cheat codes and they're seen as pro consumer by some for giving us the option even though that's something that use to be free in like...every game. I want the new Resident Evil to make you pay for extra Save Ribbons and the new Dark Souls to make you pay for Estus Flasks.

I'd be much better with micro transactions if they were cheaper. Like they could charge under £1/$1 for skins and the like and still make a ton of money because more people would be inclined to spend it. But no, multiple pounds/dollars for them.

Same as in-game currencies. Assassin's Creed's highest tier is £79.99 - just inexcusable.

Loot boxes in Overwatch are £1.59 for two, £3.99 for five and upwards it goes to more than the game itself. Make them 20-50p each and I'd be more likely to indulge once in a while. It's all extra money to the devs with no extra work so why be greedy?

The only time I'm completely against it is when it's pay to win - like XP boosts and things that give an advantage in multiplayer.

I don't have as big of a problem with it in F2P games (Though I could go on a rant on how nefarious I think Hearthstone's model is, but that's also tied to card games in general), but it being present in damn near every AAA is ridiculous.

Yep. The whole terrorist opening along with Augs lives matter and "all human lives matter" posters everywhere. It's really making me not want to continue at all. FemFreq did a good video on it but damn I wasn't expecting it to be this blatant.

Cheatcc was my shit in my dial-up internet. Shit took all day to load most of the time haha.
The reason the prices are what they are is because people pay them. Why NOT charge that if people still pay it? Simple business economics

There's extra work going on in the case with Overwatch, given that all the new stuff in the loot boxes must be designed and developed.

Try Y2K: A Postmodern RPG for free next week

I've been following this game for a year and a half now, since first seeing it at PAX East 2015. It's weird, clever, witty, and great. As Ackk Studios describes it, "a bit of Persona 4, Paper Mario, some Earthbound, and a lot of Wild Arms and Lufia 2." Everyone should check it out.

this looks awesome, thanks for the heads up. Always excited to see something new/cool like this make it to the Vita. Which is basically my jrpg machine, so I guess this is par for the course

On Polygon it says Y2K is coming to Wii. Surely they must mean WiiU?

I once heard some developers argue that cheat codes are actually largely a thing of the past because video games are so complicated now that they are always on the verge of completely falling apart, which makes implementing many worthwhile cheat codes really hard, as they'd immediately break the game. That might be wrong, but it makes some sense.

  16. Yeah, the official website says Wii U. Typo in the article.

WD2 certainly seems more interesting than 1. Story seems like it'd be unbearable if it takes itself and their hacker ethos seriously which looks to be the case.

What makes you think it looks to be the case? Based on the DedSec operations and "followers" mechanic alone it doesn't seem as serious, not to mention the silliness of dialogue between characters. We don't even really know what the story is about or how it will be executed.

This trailer and the delivery in general.

Delivery? It's the actors explaining their characters and backgrounds. It's gotta have some basis in humanity and reality. Not sure what makes it seem unnecessarily serious. Meh @ u all

I definitely didn't think it looks like it's taking itself too seriously. I mean the dude has an emoji mask. I'm loving everything I'm seeing so far from this game, and this is coming from someone who didn't like WD1 very much.
