I like how James Gunn's script for Dawn wanted a whole zombie dog sequence where Chips has to avoid some zombie dogs, and they axed it because of budget concerns and how difficult it would be to realise

fast-forward 15 years and Snyder's like yeah zombie tiger, zombie horse, why the fuck not

 

I just hated Kate as a character, omg. She made bad decision after bad decision and they could have trimmed the run time substantially by getting rid of that side plot. Also, what's up with the zombie robots? I know Snyder is looking to expand this universe, but it was very weird to include with zero explanation heh. And way too many moments where characters are just staring longingly at each other or cracking jokes when there should be a sense of urgency. Like, you're about to be nuked, hurry tf up.

 

Agreed on the robots, I noticed it pretty early and really thought it would devolve into some government conspiracy or something

 

I didn't understand the robots. Just thought it was a mistake lol

 

Thought this was fine. Just read Snyder was also cinematographer so I’m wondering what’s up with his uh interesting use of focus throughout the movie.

 

Haven't finished this yet, but so far that's my main complaint. Some shots look really great, but the random out-of-focus and blurry shots look like absolute shit. Just garbage. I would imagine any of the DP's he's worked with would have seriously pushed back against shots like that.

 

And like the one thing I could at least count on from Snyder is a CINEMATIC look and this looks bland and boring. At least the tiger looks cool.

 

There's a mini doc on Netflix for this movie. Pretty cool if you like behind the scenes stuff.

Also, I totally missed it apparently. Zombie robots?

 

Honestly I really enjoyed it

Haven’t seen the film yet but thought it had decent critical hype before dropping on Netflix?

Based on the comments here, I’m gonna have to put it off until I’m in the right mood to watch something stupid for >2 hours.

 

I will say it did not feel like 2+ hours

 

It was dumb as hell but I was entertained throughout. the time loop stuff is interesting

I noticed the key necklace and the robo zombies. I also noticed the “UFOs” at the start of the movie. As the convoy drives off two bright lights in the sky fly after it.

 

I just figured that the zombie virus gave them glowing blue veins, you see some towards the end too when one gets shot.

 

On the making of doc he says it because he was using random lens' that he bought off ebay.

 

Did background colors in some scenes blink for everyone? Was that a stylistic choice or was my TV freaking out

 

nice I buy random cheap lenses for my camera on ebay all the time

 

Cause it felt closer to 3+
