As part of its Upfront presentation, WarnerMedia announced it will debut its ad-supported HBO Max subscription tier at $9.99 per month starting the first week of June. At that point, existing subscribers will be able to choose whether to continue using the ad-free version of HBO Max at $14.99 per month or switch to the less expensive tier. Those who subscribe to the ad-supported option will have access to "the full HBO Max content catalog, excluding Warner Bros. Same-Day Premiere films debuting in theaters and on HBO Max throughout 2021."

  6. I’ll probably downgrade lol. That’s saving $60 / year

I'm that guy who pays for all the ad-free options when available*, so I'm just gonna stick with it. But I get it.

*Haven't gotten YouTube Premium yet, but damn if I don't want to. Shit's pricey.

  8. ah dang, been looking forward to In the Heights, Suicide Squad, and Matrix. Guess I'll have to start paying more. Which is fine, I guess. Unlike Hulu and Prime (which I only get for a month every so often), I actually use MAX (and Disney Plus) pretty consistently. I hardly ever use Netflix anymore, either, but that's technically my brother's account.

I justify Youtube Premium because it comes with YouTube Music for free. The app isn't as great as Spotify, but it has all the content I've ever searched for. Totally worth it imo. I'm grandfathered in at $9.99 a month though, idk where it's at now

BTW due to Apple's shitty payment model, it's actually more expensive to sign up in the YouTube iOS app. It's cheaper to sign up on their website or an Android device.

I get HBO Max because I already pay for HBO...will I still get ad-free?

It’s cool that they are offering that but I’ll stick with the ad free especially since the Add supported plan doesn’t include the Same Day Premiere’s.

$12/mo, but if I want my wife, who watches WAY more YouTube than me to be joined to a "Family Plan", it kicks up to $18/mo.

Honestly, once I have a kid obsessed with YouTube (assuming kids are still obsessed with YouTube by the time I have one old enough to have their own tablet or whatever), I think the $18/mo would be worth it if just to warp their mind less.

Also wrapped up Hannibal s2. Very good, and the finale was great like everyone said. Though obviously Will is still alive, and I absolutely hated a certain character reveal.
