Did not even consider them playing this album until right now despite that tour existing forever now. I am SO excited for this if it happens.

Looking at Mannequin Pussy's twitter account it may just be an album release. The tweet before that is how they spent 2020 writing/recording an album, how lucky they feel to be on Epitaph, etc. Maybe a tour too. Pinkshift retweeted it so could be a tour together? Or just showing support?

Hard to say. Mannequin Pussy wouldn't be a major stretch for Lolla though, IMO.

 

Yeah, that’s the only reason why I’m predicting it, is because of that tour. And that they’re doing it at Chain Fest too

 

On the "small bands who were potentially in the mix" tip? Looks like the Bombpops won't be added. First show back will be Punk in the Park in AZ in November.

For some reason I thought it was November! And on the podcast that Jen is on, she just mentioned that they had another date coming that they can't announce yet. She didn't indicate a date or time of year. But... Maybe?

 

There is also one in California in November. I was confused about that too.

Actually, they're on the one in November too. Hopefully that wasn't what she was referring to. Hard to tell with the date of the announcements and when artists might have recorded the podcast.

NoFX has September 18th (Saturday) listed as their date for Riot Fest on the fat wreck website.

Edit: I don’t remember if we already mentioned this, but Sublime With Rome has shows on Saturday and Sunday so it looks like they will be on Friday. Fishbone would have to be early on Friday. And I have just always assumed that Dirty Heads will play the same day and stage as Sublime with Rome. So maybe we are getting the ska/reggae stage on Friday?

Hah, I was on the Fat Wreck site last night to see if any other bands had added it as a tour date and didn't even pick up on that. Good look!

Everything you're saying about the ska/reggae show has me hyped! That would be a great way to start the weekend... Still can't believe Fishbone is flying back and forth like that for a single set (assuming they aren't also on the Thursday Preview Party).

Y'know, I thought that's what you were going for but wasn't willing to put my head on the proverbial chopping block to verify...

 

Sublime with Rome lists Thursday, September 16th as the starting date for Riot Fest. Maybe they're a Thursday band? May also just be an error. Dirty Heads list Friday and have a date in Jersey on Saturday.

 

I bet its an error. Unless for some reason they're doing both Thursday and Friday, it'd be extraordinarily shitty if the festival listed a booked band only for Thursday where only a fraction of attendees could see them.

 

I don’t think any bands are going to be on the poster but only play Thursday. For one it would give it away when the daily lineups are released this week and they aren’t on any of them. I assume that when we refer to someone on the poster being a Thursday band we just mean that they would also be playing on Thursday.

 

Dirty Heads & Sublime are playing Riot in the middle of their tour, I'm pretty sure both are Friday

Now I have to figure out how to get to Chicago a day before Riot because that tour sounds awesome
