    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Seeing that it’s their most popular album (I think? Is that fair to say?) and next year is the album’s 20th anniversary. Just a wild guess

Based on this discussion, I think we definitely see those Circle Jerks, New Found Glory, and Motion City album plays. I'm also expecting that Thursday might do Full Collapse. NOFX is probably gonna do White Trash.

Simple Plan weren't planning anything for a No Pads, No Helmets tour so I'm not expecting that. Their presence here feels more like a relic of that co-headliner they were meant to do with NFG than anything.

I'm also guessing we see the Lawrence Arms do an album play at the Thursday preview party with a "regular" set during the festival itself. TBH, I'd be stoked if they did the entire new album on Thursday night as a way to "test" what songs fans reacted to. But I'm probably in the minority there. Hah.

I'd also be really into Fucked Up and/or Hepcat album plays, but thinking on that - I don't think that'll be happening.

Do we still think rise against is the headliner Thursday or we we think they won’t be playing at all since they weren’t on the original lineup

I’m convinced they’re playing Riot in some capacity. If don’t get announced this week, I’d expect them at the pre-party

There’s gonna be one Thursday band (presumably the headliner) who isn’t on any of the other days, meaning they won’t show up in the lineup. So it could be them.

I wouldn't rule them out. They would be a perfect Thursday night headliner. They're the perfect size popularity-wise, with connections to the festival, and its something people would be stoked on. Especially if it were any sort of "special" set.

Oh man, I totally forgot this year is the 20th anniversary of Full Collapse

Here’s this for a theory: Thursday has already done that album a bunch the last couple years. So maybe Thursday can play it front-to-back at the Thursday pre-party, and then a regular set at Riot?

Or would a FC album-play be more in-demand for a play at the festival itself?

The Wonder Years have spoken openly about wanting to do a tour this year playing both The Upsides and Suburbia in full.

I would say they’re likely to be on the lineup and play those albums; but I’m a little hesitant because they haven’t announced a tour yet and Soupy is expecting his second child this fall. I could see it going either way.

From Riot Fest's perspective? I would think they'd ask about a Full Collapse play for the festival itself. That would most definitely get people amped and would probably convince a chunk of people who are on the fence to buy a single-day ticket.

But they're also the kind of band who would be into doing the preview party and doing another random album they know how to play-through (No Devolucion) as part of their set there too. There's a lot of different ways their set could go, TBH. Hah.

They're also one of the bands I'm assuming is going to have an after show.

They're another one I was shocked to not see on the line-up. But I guess if they're not touring at all it makes sense... That being said, doing a single set/weekend is different than a two week run, y'know?

I'd love for that to happen, but I'm'a call it a coin toss at this point.

  11. Spanish Love Songs mentioned on their Patreon podcast that the big tour they're supporting was moved to 2022. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that's the TWY Upsides/Suburbia tour and we don't get TWY at Riot this year, but I would love to be wrong.

That would make a lot of sense, considering that they were on that one Wonder Years tour that got cancelled when the pandemic hit. And I recall them saying that they were utilizing that tour to get a sense of what playing in those rooms would be like, if they were ready for a jump up in size, etc. (It probably wasn't as ambitious a move as I'm making that sound, but I remember Dylan saying something akin to that on their podcast a while back.)

I'm guessing the anniversary tour would be a decent increase in venue size too.

As much as I'd love for Fucked Up to play David Comes to Life, the record's over an hour long, so it wouldn't make logistical sense.

Thursday exclusive then! I kind of forgot how long the album is. Yeah, that’s probably not going to happen. I’ll have plenty of fun during their set anyway though.

VERY much into album plays exclusively for Thursday people.

Any smaller acts ya'll are hoping to be added this week?
Personally I'm hoping that The Dangerous Summer get on this lineup.

I would love to see some additional Furnace Fest crossover. Killswitch, Anberlin, 18 Visions, and Poison the Well.

Lorene Drive also released their "lost" songs. Would love to see them do a reunion gig.

I would also enjoy Alexisonfire and Royal Tusk.

These are all very doubtful, but I can dream, right?

Driveways. I don’t know how they’re not huge by now. October Forever feels like it should have been this generation’s Homesick.

I also think Pinkshift would be interesting, and think they’re gonna blow up a lot between this riot fest and the next one.

If you had asked this last Thursday, I would have said Hospital Bracelet. I’m still so sad and shocked at what happened there.

I would also love at least one up & coming hardcore band with a great live energy- someone like One Step Closer or Magnitude. I don’t think we’ll be lucky enough to get that though

Pinkshift and Mannequin Pussy teasing announcements tomorrow. I'm thinking it's Riot and we get the rest of the lineup

I doubt Riot Fest announces anything the same day Lolla drops their lineup. Maybe a tour together? Or something unrelated

I was gonna say... That’s really bold of them to drop the rest of the lineup the same day Lolla drops theirs

Unless... the two of them are actually gonna be on Lolla instead of Riot

Nice I keep seeing people mention Pinkshift and Hospital Bracelet, I need to check them out.

Lollapalooza announces their lineup tomorrow, they could be teasing that as well.

Would love Mannequin Pussy to be added, though! Would be great to get more female fronted acts on the bill. Also would be cool if Charly Bliss played Riot.
