An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

    yup, indeed they are

"Let it Be" and "The End" are as good as anything on the regular album

Solo Matt wasn’t for me, but i did buy that vinyl for a friend’s birthday because she loved it.

New photograph book with a record and essays. Seems like a hefty price tag. Wish there was a little more info on it

If i were more interested in the vinyl I’d probably take the plunge. But 8 songs just doesn’t feel worth it.

yea and the fact that book without the vinyl is $30 less just has that one record with 8 songs valued way too high. Still may pull the trigger...

Some brutal matchups here. Solidifies that SWB and TWFM are easily my two favorites from them though.

It’s between that one and Alligator to me. SWB just has such a crisp sound on the production. Think they eased up on the reverb on Matt’s vocals compared to the two before it maybe? Title track is underrated imo.

I’ll always have a soft spot for Alligator being my favorite since that was my introduction.

SWB is my #1 National record. IATF could have been up there too but it was a little too messy.

Edit: my first National was buying Cherry Tree and SSFDL together a few months before Alligator came out. As fun as the leaps and break out of Alligator and Boxer were, SWB is the band at their best on nearly every front, IMO. Parts of IAETF, as well.

  25. That you have great taste and SWB is so criminally underrated - it’s my fourth favorite national record
