A silver vinyl for Paramore's Riot is now up for pre order. Got it on Amazon for $19.50.

Amazon also had TBS's Where You Wanna Be in stock for a hot second, but by the time I convinced myself to pull the trigger it was gone : (

Could just be me being unlucky, but my backorders have never come in from Banquet. Always ended up cancelling.

Wish they would advertise what is actually in stock.

For some reason a billion copies of WYTTSY exist, and Southern Air is impossible to find haha

Hi all. I'm a bit of a vinyl newbie and have a kind of starter player. But now that I've got a bit more of a sizeable collection I'm looking to upgrade my player.

Can anyone provide any suggestions on an upgrade? Looking at spending around £200-£250 max.

Depends, what do you have at the moment. Can definitely can get a decent upgrade on the table for that, but you'll need to make sure you factor in amps/speakers etc if you haven't got them.

I literally just have the player with built in speakers. As I say, very basic and standard stuff to begin with whilst I built my collection.

    This is it: https://amzn.to/3vMewi2

Of course now I'm looking for something a bit better in quality without breaking the bank.

I'd look at the Audio Technica LP60 or LP120. 120 being the better of the two. Then you'll need some powered speakers to go with it. Unfortunately I've got no experience with powered (active) speakers to know whats good!

If it was me looking, I'd probably spend time hunting down some vintage (passive) speakers off facebook marketplace/ebay for cheap. Then go down the project debut carbon/rega planar 1 route. But you'll need an amp that could take you slightly over your budget.

I'll always recommend the U-Turn Orbit. Orbit Turntables

I went with a custom version (green) with a cue lever and built-in pre-amp. I got the powered speakers separately.

Agreed, also heard good stuff! Just think they are a bit harder to get hold of here in the UK.

You're mainly looking for one that has an adjustable counter weight and tracking on.

I agree with all the above comments and think they pretty well represent the thread’s usual consensus, but did want to add that that Amazon player looks really cool. I’d love for my LP120 to look like that haha.

Can anyone recommend some good local mom and pop record shops that ship throughout the US and have decent inventory?
