Conan's final month on The Tonight Show may be my favorite run of late night talk shows ever. He just didn't give a fuck and blasted NBC on their own network every single night. Legendary stuff.

Really excited to see what he does for HBO.

The end of an era. It's lame, but Conan's farewell speech from the Tonight Show really changed me. Anytime I'm feeling the least bit cynical I think about his words.

I highly recommend The War For Late Night and The Late Shift if you want to learn more about that whole debacle.

I feel lucky to have been able to be in the audience at one of his Tonight Show tapings. The guests were Heidi and Spencer, Seth Green and a performance by The Brian Setzer Orchestra. Jimmy Pardo had to plead with the audience to be civil when Heidi and Spencer came out and of course we weren't. They got booed and laughed at when they said they wrote a book. I remember Jimmy saying on NNF that besides Sarah Palin it was the most awkward thing he's seen in his time with Conan.

Not lame at all. That farewell speech is an all-timer for me. Conan gave NBC way more grace at the end than they deserved.

PFT is killing me on CBB. Really hope that character comes back, in a live show, because I want the Grizz, Pamela from Big Bear, and Entre P Nuer to scream at Scott for 2 hours.

Has CBB been any good during the pandemic? I have such a hard time believing it could work on zoom

Yeah there have been some great episodes. Anything with Carl and Ego.

The past two eps have been great. But they've had a number of excellent eps. I don't know if it's good audio editing or that they've all adjusted to Zoom over the past year, but it's still very solid.

Sometimes there isn't as much cross talk between guests but a Jason and Andy episode is still a Jason and Andy episode.

Not kidding, I watch his farewell speech from The Tonight Show all the time. It's brilliant.

Where may I find The War for Late Night and The Late Shift? Are those documentaries? Pardon my ignorance.

    I believe they’re both books

They're books both by Bill Carter. HBO did make a movie based on The Late Shift though and it's great. The Late Shift is about Leno / Letterman, while The War For Late Night is Leno / Conan.

I haven't seen it in 20 years probably, but The Late Shift movie is dope.

lol, I’ve seen it before but recently came across an article about celebrities’ reactions to being depicted in a movie and Letterman fucking hated it

"To the kids out there watching, you can do anything you want to do, unless Jay Leno wants to do it too" is an all time great joke for me

My girls are big fans of John Mulaney, and 1 of the girls saw him (and Pete Davidson) in Providence.

They are wondering how he starts the show - by perhaps coming out on stage and saying.... 'so, anything new?' or 'Guess where I was....'...

    He <is> very funny.

Jessica McKenna has been an MVP on CBB for me. She ALWAYS gets the entire crew to break with the dumbest shit. I love it.
