Origami Angel - Gami Gang (April 30, 2021) Album • Page 14

  1. I think I've listened to this like 8-10 times since it came out already. I feel bad for the MO record, I really thought I'd have listened to it more but this one has me addicted

How do you even choose what to play live with this many songs? We need Hour plus sets from Gami going forward

  5. Album front to back with Somewhere City as an encore set, hour twenty and change

Casual reminder that this band only has 2 people. Like what?

Pretty sure I read that when they play live he has a line out also going to a bass cab, so it will play the bass note of whatever chord he is playing. Pretty sick.

Granted I’ve only known this band for just over a day now, but why do I keep wanting to call the BAND Gami Gang ?!!? Almost seems like a better name if you ask me haha

I tossed this on while driving to get my second covid shot and goddamn this is gonna be on loop during the summer. Only got half way through, but it's really good.

My favorite song so far was probably either Noah Fence or Mach Bike (even tho the acro bike is where it's at).

    Not newbie, I think Supporter

I read this thread, put this on and I'm on Alchemy but I can't wait to listen to this a trillion times. Haven't had an album just pop off at me in a long time since Mandancing and Oso Oso's new stuff but this has ear potential. Reminds me the first time popping on New Found Glory's Sticks and Stones, Fall Out Boy FUCT, Underoath Only Chasing Safety eons ago.

This is the only thing I have listened to since Thursday night. It finishes and I’m pumped to start it over again. The way this clicked so quickly with me reminds me of listening to Home Like Noplace Is There or The Upsides for the first time and realizing I just found a new favorite band.

I like this album, they clearly know how to write a catchy, fun song but it definitely feels a bit too long to me when so many of the songs sound so similar. I think the length was a big part of why I spent so much time with Somewhere City. I'll have to see if this one grows on me as much.

I can definitely agree with this. Kinda wish they slimmed it down to ~35 min and released some of the cut tracks as an EP.

  21. The part of me that loves segues is geeking the fuck out at how well-sequenced this is.

I typically feel like that on any album longer than like 12 songs.

However, for 20 songs this is still only 51 minutes and it FLIES by for me. I’ve been replaying this heavily and I’ve literally only listened to Manchester Orchestra once lol

Agree with the sentiment that I wouldn’t mind a more concise album, but damn if it isn’t still a ton of fun. Glad I ventured into this thread on Friday.

Haha I have only listened to both of those albums since Thursday. Usually MO when my wife is around and then I mob by myself to this all other hours of the day.
