Andy Prince is an absolute beast of a bass player. Jonathan was great, but Andy has way more “umph” in his playing. If that makes sense.

honestly i feel like BMTTS and this could benefit from some of the heavier cope guitar sounds but i get why they’ve left that era behind.

This is absolutely My Shit. I love how cinematic everything sounds. My first listen was last night while laying in bed with my eyes closed and I could visualize the scene for every song. In a lot of ways, this is the natural progression of their sound from Black Mile in the best way possible. Can't wait to play this 10,000 times and pick up on every little reference they've built into these songs.

as much as I do think the production on BMTTS and this is great there are a few moments where I want the guitars to explode in a way they never do

Yeah, I think I was one of the only people who said they preferred the front half of this to the back, and only one person agreed... I still prefer the first half after a few more listens, but the songs on the second half are pretty great overall. I'm not let down by The Internet as a closer, but I think I wish Way Back had a little more going on. It's very pretty, and has a neat sound, but I think it's slightly too mellow for me if I'm really nit-picking, especially after some of the songs toward the beginning of the album.
