It's totally the radio friendly tune and for sure up there with my faves from the album

 

“it doesn’t sound like radiohead at all” steadily getting more tiresome than “it sounds like radiohead”

sorry you can’t engage with music as anything other than an internet hardman, the overcompensation for having nothing of interest to say about the music yourself is staggering

like, dozens and dozens of songs share chord progressions lol. sonically, it isn’t as complex as radiohead and, to give props to them, vocally it is completely different and in a good way than anything radiohead does. thom hasn’t let loose like that in decades.

 

Don’t threaten me with a good time.

 

if they ever want to do a whole album of "keel timing" / "bed head" style pop-adjacent upbeat hooky rock music with drum machines and dense production I would be completely fine with that as they are apparently extremely good at it and I have lots of music for moping around the house already

 

if more bands sounded like Radiohead

i get the desire to be similar to radiohead. they’re one of the largest bands of our lifetime. people will always chase being similar to them like people chase being similar to the beatles and nirvana. that doesn’t mean we have to compare every band that throws a drum machine and a delay pedal on their music to radiohead lol. it’s lazy and cheap, i’m sure the band would rather have it be said that “this is the coolest thing manorch has done” than “this is manorch trying to be radiohead!”

if they’re close to anything, it’s who they said: wilco

 

Cope and those two songs sound almost nothing alike to me.

i’ve actually been engaging with what they’re doing in the music and what i’ve been liking more than “it sounds like this other band!” which is the laziest and easiest thing to say about music

 

lol np this thread is moving at blazing speeds

 

obstacle might be my favorite track so far. tim’s crushing it. the synths are a nice touch too

 

this is the best andy’s voice has sounded

 

to stoke this fire a teensy bit more the very first thing I thought of the first time I heard "Keel Timing" was...... "I Might be Wrong"
