this was me for like, a decade. I tried so many times during their heyday to get into them and just couldn’t. Then about 3 years ago I stumbled across Sleepwalkers and fell in love with it, then went to Painkillers and liked that even more. Figured since I liked those Fallon solo albums I’d like TGA and tried to get into them again and still couldn’t.

I don’t know what happened but when the pandemic started and I was locked at home and bored AF they started coming up a lot on my playlists and I just dug in again and for whatever reason they all of a sudden clicked for me.

Weird.

I have zero problems with Cut Me Up, Jenny.

 

Cut Me Up Jenny is super fun and definitely something I miss with the newer records ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

I just want more John vocals in my life, whether it be TBS, more killer solo albums or Straylight (I can dream)

I’ll give them another shot one day. I’ve had a similar experience with a bunch of bands in the past.

 

I’d you’re looking for fun TBS, Call Come Running is one of the most fun songs they’ve ever written.

i never, ever, ever understood why when they played Existentialism during some of the reunion shows (and first tour following), ADAM sang lead, and not John. idk if we ever got an explanation either, like, did Adam just pull rank and say "i'm the singer"?

 

maybe Adam just liked the song and asked if he could sing lead? or maybe John wanted him to? I'd like to think it was something more like that
