Van Weezer, if it ever fucking comes out

 

This would be applicable IF Weezer did not drop an entire new album before the release. They more than made it up to their fans. Angels can’t even come close to qualifying....

 

33% of the songs on Dude Ranch were released at least a year before that album dropped. Degenerate was on the original Buddha album and their 2nd demo tape, A New Hope (originally titled Princess Leia) was on the Buddha Promo Tape, Enthused was on the Buddha Promo Tape and Wasting Time single, Lemmings was on a Split EP, and Waggy was on the Uranus EP.

 

This is way back when the band was moving onto a major label and re-recording demos. This is not apples to apples by any means....

 

Yup completely agree, definitely different times back then. It was the only example I could think of off the top of my head.

 

Lol just be happy new music is coming. Tom hasn’t followed a normal album rollout in like 10+ years

 

Rebel Girl & Kiss and Tell came out and the tour they had lined up already sold out in advance. No need to drop an album until you need it to promo the next tour and unfortunately that next tour never happened becaise of covid. This all lines up

 

Am I missing something? Where was it confirmed that this is 10 tracks?

 

Tom said so awhile back and Aaron confirmed today.

 

I'm honestly glad those two songs are on the album, I fucking hate loose tracks because I never go back to them and those are two of Tom's best songs in years

 

Yeah bit of a bummer it's only 8 new songs but I'm sure covid caused a ton of scheduling issues / delays. If they can crank out a few more tunes now that vaccines might be allowing them to get together more, great. If not, oh well. Beggars can't be choosers.

 

if they wrote like 20 songs and we're just getting the 10 best ones, i'm perfectly happy with that.
