The last verse of The Silence has always reminded me of Springsteen’s Adam Raised a Cain.

Specifically,

‘You're born into this life paying for the sins of somebody else's past’

and

‘You inherit the sins, you inherit the flames.’

I’m not sure who’s word choice I like better, I lean Bruce because, well, it’s Bruce. But they both convey so much emotion.

 

I like the first option better without knowing who’s wrote which line off the top of my head.

Well, Bruce wrote both of those lines. But the

‘Cursed by my ancestry’ line always hits so hard, it always throws me back to those lines from Bruce.

 

I mean, the last two and half minutes of The Silence may be the best thing the band has ever done.

PEOPLE IN GERMANY HAVE THIS ALBUM AND I DON'T???????

 

Along with a standard Covid relief stimulus package, the German government gave each citizen a copy of The Million Masks of God. Confusing it with actual masks that could help with the pandemic.

 

So I found out there is only a 'week of' embargo in place here, as opposed to 'day of' in the US. So you'll be seeing my review next Thursday morning!

Also, ironically brilliant time to release an album that had Masks in the title even if it’s a slightly different meaning.

 

Does Let it Storm really sound like Ed Sheeran?

 

I mean, it's the closest thing they've ever gotten to that? I couldn't really compare it to any particular Ed Sheeran song though. Probably just acoustic that then has big vocal sounds and layers with a certain melody

 

I almost never read reviews anymore. Fan reaction is just usually better because they at least know the band and their discography.

 

How 80s are we talking here?
