Wish I had the ability to A) coherently set out my thoughts on all this into a post and B) make it interesting for you guys to read lol, but one thing has stood out above all else to me over the past few days - fan power was undoubtedly the driving force behind getting this thing stopped, which shows that fan-owned clubs, like the 51% in Germany, has to be the future for all football clubs with professional status. Wish there was a way that could be made a reality asap but it will be difficult

Yes, I’m now all for some kind of rule that forces 51% fan ownership for any PL team. Time to protect the game and innovate with fans at the centre.

For footy to be sustainable/affordable for fans, players will have to take massive pay cuts across the board. This falling apart doesn't change the myriad of problems still facing the sport (and I don't think the new UCL is the answer, either).
