The Maine – “April 7th”

If you told me in 2010 that this would be one of my favorite bands in 2021, I would have laughed in your face. But here we are...

 

I created an account to reply to your comment. THIS 100%. Their most recent 3 albums are phenomenal anything before that was forgettable and nothing I could get into.

 

It’s funny, I was just revisiting CSWS and I still love that album though it feels very nostalgic. But after that I lost touch till lovely little lonely and since then I’ve been hooked

 

Also...does this chorus remind anyone else of “Hanging by a moment”?

 

By 2010, I'd largely moved on from discovering newer pop punk bands. I think the last one I got into in that era was All Time Low. I saw The Maine mentioned on AP a lot, but just never bothered to listen. I saw their promo pics and automatically associated their look with what their sound must've been. I actually missed American Candy and Lovely Little Lonely when they came out (though I remember LLL getting a lot of coverage here). Can't believe I slept on those two albums. Quite excited for anything this band releases these days.

I don’t love the track but good god is the production top notch. His vocal is perfect. It’s nice but it’s just there.

 

I feel exactly the same, I love the lyrics and the production but the song doesn’t really do anything.

 

When someone said hanging by a moment I kept waiting for the chorus to take off and it just didn’t. Melody is kinda there but the urgency/catchiness isn’t really.

 

Cool song. Might check out more from The Maine next time I’m cruising to the grocery store or something.

 

Sort of meh. Not bad but nothing special. Liked Sticky a lot more.

 

Yes, about 2 years ago I discovered American Candy and LLL via Spotify and was like WOW I really missed out on these guys, but then I listened to their older stuff and realized they just evolved into a style I really enjoy.

 

I thought they were announcing a LLL vinyl reissue yesterday too?

 

I think that was just speculation

 

They should have released this first and Sticky second. Definitely enjoying both song a lot. Can’t wait for the full album.
