People need to listen to this, it's really damn good.

 

I'm really excited to hear it later. I think Citizen is extremely meh but I like Mats voice and both of the songs I heard earlier got me very interested.

 

Is the stream missing the first 2 tracks for anyone else?

 

Citizens last record was way better than people gave it credit for. It was really dark and I'm not sure their fan base was ready for it. It did suffer from having a few too many songs that were a little samey but I really liked it. I could see them finding a middle ground and being the next big band in this scene still.

 

Yea first two tracks are missing idk why but they were already released so we've heard them

 

I'll wait to hear it on apple music I think weird that it's missing the first 2 tracks.

 

Both of their records are great IMO. I'm a big fan of them but yeah I think the best is still yet to come. And I love seeing them added to the Stuffing this year. Cool to know that Manchester Orchestra are fans. I hope that means they might tour together in the future.

 

Lol I listened to the first two on Apple Music than switched the stream to get the full experience

 

Yeah, I'm being lazy and trying to avoid having to do that, but I want to hear the full thing in its entirety. It's not a serious problem, just a minor inconvenience.

Also kinda funny that they call out the guest vocals by Anthony Green on "Direction" but that song isn't included in the stream.

Haha yeah I was thinking of doing the exact same thing actually didn't want my first listen to be withtout the first 2 tracks! I might do it too we'll see. Otherwise I'll listen to it tomorrow.

Will you be seeing him on the Anthony Green tour? I thought about going to it but no dates are real close to me so I'm passing on it.

I think the singles are some of the strongest tracks on the album but the closer is really good and there are other interesting tracks that have drums/piano/strings so overall it's worth a listen.

 

Got to listen (only once, sadly) before I left work and I really enjoy this. I haven't fully formed my thoughts yet, but the singles and the closer are all great and the melody in "Canvas" sounds like "Take a Picture" by Filter.
