An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

full USERx EP is out now, gonna spin that

gotta say I never thought I'd see Pusha T and Andy featured on the same release, lmao

yeah, good stuff. some of the non-Andy features feel a bit awkward but the songs are largely great. Maeson is one talented man

Their video for The Silence has nearly 57M views on Youtube and most of the comments are from the past month or two. Did something happen to make this "trending" or is it just a result of the live performance and MMOG/Bed Head?

It had up to 50 million views prior to the livestream a few weeks ago and/or release of Bed Head. I have no idea how or why it got up to that high.

I’ve been spoiled by so many artists announcing and releasing albums in less than a month.

It’s crazy to me how 3-4 months used to feel like a short album rollout and now I’m frustrated by having to wait longer than a month.

It's 2021, the long album rollout is useless, especially during a pandemic.

Seriously, album rollouts from now on should be like, a month tops.

Announce the album, release the single, post your new merch and let fans eat it up for 2-3 weeks, then maybe a second single at week 3 and/or the day of the album release. Anything longer than that seems like an eternity in this day and age. Honestly, the ABMTTS livestream felt like months ago already.

Like, people can stream the shit out of music nowadays so it's not like the 1990s when we had to wait every few hours to hear the song on the radio or watch the video on MTV and over a month's time, you only had the chance to hear the song every so often.

Adapt to the current times, most bands - especially the ones popular on this very website - already have their fanbase secured and are not going to all of a sudden gain thousands/millions of new fans by promoting an album release for 2-3 months. It could happen, but chances are highly unlikely and you're now competing with thousands of other artists who people can listen to with the swipe of a thumb so it's harder and harder to gain - and keep - people's attention.

The band this thread is based on just did it with the last record.

They’re wanting to do it again.

In what ways? To my knowledge, they weren't playing any significantly larger venues than on past album tours around the country. They played large festivals prior to ABMTTS. I'd say the biggest difference between ABMTTS compared to their earlier albums was that streaming was bigger in 2017 than it was 2014 and prior.

Obviously, The Gold was their biggest hit, but I'm not sure that had anything to do with the album rollout, if anything, The Gold became a lot bigger once the entire album was out (and that album rollout was a smaller time frame than this album rollout)

    ABMTTS

    First Single: June 9
    Second single: June 22
    Third single: July 10
    Album release: July 21
    Rollout: 6 weeks

    TMMOG

    First Single: February 18
    Second single: ??
    Third single: ??
    Album Release: April 30
    Rollout: TEN WEEKS

I don't know...just seems like a long album rollout - especially during a time where nobody is doing shit because of a global pandemic.

Everyone tell your story of how you were introduced to Manchester Orchestra / Andy Hull and maybe we pause the baseball posts.
