I keep buying 7"s because I like to have them, but I don't really play them much. Same goes (even more so) for the 10" ones.

 

I had over 400 7 inch records. Last weekend, I was able to sell almost 150 of them, so that's cleared some space, haha.

 

That's pretty impressive. Were you just trying to clear out space?

I get that they aren't as exciting as full albums, but it's probably cheaper to collect them (generally), and sometimes I only want to hear one or two songs anyway.

 

My 7” records very rarely get play time. I value them as fun little collector’s items, and for that reason I’m still relatively attached to the few that I have, but any fondness I’ve got for them just about ends there.

 

This is how I treat them. There was also a period before Billboard changed their charting rules where pop artists were doing signed 7”s, which was fun.

 

my collection most ranges from 60s to 80s pop and classic rock singles. i used to listen to them a lot more often, when i had a turntable that just had a 33/45 switch. but with my U-Turn, i need to adjust the belt and it's kind of annoying to do. and so they're just taking up space on my shelf and i'm out of room for anything new i get, so yeah, clearing space.

 

My Yellowcard Ocean Avenue vinyl should arrive today.

 

Same here, I have a couple but play them infrequently enough that I’m surprised at what I have whenever I do look through them. There’s always one or two that I forgot about. I do really like my Elf Tower/IRO-Bot Coheed 7” that came with my Second Stage Turbine Blade repress in 2011.

 

This showed up today FINALLY! I’ve wanted this one for so long, it sounds so good too.

 

Parting Gift Records has an unreal start with Perhaps, I Suppose, Trainwreck and In Reverie. So I'm gonna put out a flare for them to do ...And Don't Forget to Breathe next.

same! LLO and Mare are my favorites of theirs so I’m pretty stoked to have been able to nab both of those without paying a ridiculous amount.

Yup. For some reason I thought they only numbered the yellow variants but I guess they did the black variant too? Only way it makes sense. I have yellow.

 

Just checked. It was 484 units of standard black and 978 of yellow. Must be counting both.

 

Such a bizarre pressing. Has to be the only one I can think of that made less black than the color variant. Not to mention the oddball #s, which i’d be willing to bet were produced at an even 500 and 1000 and were given to either the band, kept for themselves, etc.

I've never bought a 7" outright. They just keep showing up via handouts, special editions, or mistake.

 

The only two 7” vinyls I own are Straylight Run’s Un Mas Dos EP and +44’s Cliff Diving single that they gave away at the album release show.
