If this pops up on Amazon or Target before it ships I may cancel my order. The shipping was almost 75% the cost of the actual item!

Did anyone ever get that Jack's Mannequin EIT lp from Amazon? I got an email a while back asking if I wanted to wait longer for it and I just looked for the first time in a while and they cancelled it.

is it the same for you? Prestigious

The "asking if I still want it and then cancelling" thing happened to me for either this or the Run The Jewels record (the 10th anniversary version also got cancelled when my mom tried to buy it for me as a gift a few years back). I had put in another order for it in mid-February, and they're currently saying it's supposed to arrive by March 30. Not holding my breath, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if I do actually get it.

I checked the page to see if I could order another, but there’s only one being resold for $120 :(

My local shop Port of Sound (which is the best) has some available on their site if you’re looking for EIT

Pre-ordered TTTYG from Bullmoose, and picked up Almost Here since I didn't grab it when it was announced

I went in there yesterday on my day off to liquidate the majority of my CDs and DVDs. Ended up picking up the most recent Bad Books with store credit, and used the remainder for this

I would've done this but it sold out. Especially since they are selling AAR's Move Along repress.

Has anyone ever bought a lathe cut record? Thinking about ordering a small run for my music, but it seems like the quality varies quite a bit.

I guess according to the post on Reddit I don’t have a cheap turntable. Quickly played it today and didn’t notice any skipping.

Well I'm glad it worked for you. I'm pretty bummed. I think it's super shitty of them to have sent that out with if it wasn't gonna play normally on all turntables (I wouldn't call my turn table cheap either) especially after waiting for 8 months. Both of the other albums they pressed didn't have that issue so something definitely didn't get done correctly with that record to have it turn out to only work on some turntables. Also, that reddit user appears to work for the project in some way (based on other comments) which means they knew about it. Also haven't received any sort of reply to my email yet.

Lathe cut record quality isn't too bad as long as you find the right company. I have a few lathe cut records that sound fine for the type of music on it. I am currently in the market to put out a small run for my music too. I do noise/ambient and black metal so hi-fi sound quality isn't my highest priority.

Lathe cut is definitely worth it I think for small runs and limited releases.

  16. Check out Little Elephant. They’re a great company to do custom lathes through. I did one for a Blink EP and it came out pretty well. If a professional vinyl pressing is “great” I’d say a lathe cut is “good.” Depending on the type of music you do, that could work in your favor.

    I second Little Elephant.

Also, there are two audio samples on the site of what the Lathe will mosty likely sound like. The prices are very reasonable.

Yeah, I think I'd like it mostly for the novelty of having a physical version of my music that doesn't cost thousands of dollars to produce. As long as it's listenable, that's good enough.

Are there people out there who only collect 7-inches? I love my records, but they take up so much space.

By the time I've sat down I'm standing back up to change the record.

I have a handful but none get any serious playtime.
