Hell yeah, "Letter From an Occupant"! That was the first New Pornographers song I heard on my college radio station back in '01 and it completely changed the course of my musical journey.

honestly unsure how to describe this. its kinda folksy but its also very creepy and haunting. tom from you and I is in this but its definitely not skramz

her voice is really similar to Lucy dacus' wow

 

She's on Partisan Records, album due later in the year!

this also has the potential to be a favorite from this year. these singles rule.

 

kinda jangly emo. twilight is a pretty straight forward pop emo song, the next one is a wild pink sorta Americana thing, its just a nice lil ep

 

My friend did the VFX for this video (and many of their other videos). He's v talented. He's also got his own lil bedroom-pop solo project that has Postal Service / late It Looks Sad. vibes. Check it out.
