wtf is the voice she's using on Breaking Up Slowly, that's not what her voice sounds like

edit: might not even be her if I'm being honest, I guess Nikki Lane co-wrote the song so maybe it's her singing.

    That is Nikki Lane’s voice.

phew, I'm not losing my mind. Thanks. I saw Zella Day and Weyes Blood were listed on the final track, but no one here, so my brain was trying to figure out how it would be Lana

I don’t get why she didn’t put ft. Nikki Lane. Seems kinda selfish and rude to not credit an artist featured on one of your songs?

There's a segment in the back half of "Dance Till We Die" that's probably the best part of this album. That plus "Dark But Just A Game" are the easy standouts here

agreed. Could be contractual, could be something that just isn't marked for the leak and will be credited on the actual album release... who knows

irthesteveA is right. Antonoff is doing the heavy lifting here.

And yeah, Dark but Just a Game is easily the best song here.

White Dress is LDR cosplaying Kate Bush, but I do like it.

If I could just forget it

Pretty unimpressed with this. The Joni Mitchell cover is nice, but aside from that I really don't see myself coming back to it much.

Jesus Christ, just tried to read that Pitchfork review and it's.... a doozy. I didn't get very far, and I scrolled down to see it's actually essay length

honestly, who can read this sentence with a straight face?

In 2011, she emerged as an aesthetic howitzer, exploding a broad but deeply personal index of iconography into her own nation of death-driven kitsch. It was Xanadu, built from a blissful, degenerate, high-femme sort of jingoism.

That literally does not make any sense at all, and I won’t be trying to figure it out

Yeesh. You cannot tell me that isn’t just a bunch of fancy words thrown together to make the review look more intelligent or thought provoking than it actually is.

I don’t know if this is because of the review but Mina (the reviewer) is currently private on Facebook and my guess is because she knew she would get shit from Lana fans for the review lol

It's a bit clumsy, but that quote makes sense and is not that hard to understand.

I agree that it's not that hard to parse that sentence, but I would never ever want to meet the person who would write such an awful sentence.

Man, I'm loving this. You can't follow up a maximalist masterpiece like Norman Fucking Rockwell by going bigger, so this being simpler and more intimate is such a great decision.

Some really excellent (what sure sounds like) real drumming on this.
