I think Starfield is almost a lock to be exclusive at this point.

i doubt Starfield, Elder Scrolls, or Fallout will be exclusives but everything else will be.

What’s the logic behind not thinking Starfield will be exclusive? I don’t know what they’ll do with it, but if that game isn’t, why would anything else be? New IP, never announced for any specific platforms, etc.

imo the only way Starfield is multiplatform is if they were so far along on Playstation versions that it wouldn’t make financial sense to cancel it now. I doubt that’s the case though considering I’m not sure that game is playable on anything other than internal BGS PCs at the moment.

Starfield is the next big IP from the guys who make Fallout and Elder Scrolls. Two massive brands that MS has bought exclusivity deals for throughout their history. I just don't see why MS would want Starfield ever associated with Sony or Playstation. Make that series a Xbox brand from the start.

MS has enough cash to throw away a PS5 build. It's a sunk cost at this point. The Game Pass subs is what they care about and Sony won't let Game Pass on PS5.

They have the money to do it, but would they do it is the question. I'm not saying they wouldn't, obviously, I'm just saying that they'd be throwing away a lot more than just whatever Bethesda has already sunk into it by cancelling the game.

But like I said, I doubt that game is actually playable on any console yet, it's definitely still just a build on their internal PC's right now. Whatever staff BGS was going to use on the PS5 version will just be folded back into the rest of the team probably. Maybe the game will come out faster now! (Not likely)

Yeah, I think it could go either way who knows. Definitely an argument either way, depends where MS sees the priority.

E3 will probably be the time we find out too.

I would be surprised as hell if we see Starfield this year in any capacity. Maybe next year, and it'll actually come out Fall 2022. Maybe.

I think it may launch this year depending on COVID impacts. It's been 6 years since Fallout 4 and that's the longest gap for them to release a game, if I remember correctly.

0% chance Starfield launches this year. We might see a trailer for it, but that'll be it

Starfield has been in development for a long time. There have been a few reputable people in the industry who have suggested that it will release later this year and was still on track for that as of a month or two ago. 2022 is possible depending on the impact the pandemic had on development, but no chance it comes out any later than next fall.

That being said, I’m willing to bet we get a good look at it at E3.

Starfield is one the game Phil Spencer has been name dropping every chance he gets. I personally don’t think he’d be doing that if it was still that far out.

Starfield has been in development a long time but BGS is also not the best when it comes to turning projects around in a reasonable time. Especially if they want to make sure it launches in a stable state.

Spencer name drops lots of things that don't go anywhere. But also he could just be name-dropping Starfield a ton because it's going to be the first huge game his new acquisition releases under the Microsoft banner. He wants to make sure people know it's coming and that it's coming to Xbox exclusively (or timed exclusively, but probably totally exclusively).

Several insiders have said it was planned for 2020 until the pandemic. Also, while people say they take a long time when you actually look at it Todd's team delivers on a fairly consistent basis, they're no Rockstar.

    2002 Morrowind
    2006 Oblivion
    2008 Fallout 3
    2011 Skyrim
    2015 Fallout 4

Starfield is already in full development longer than Skyrim and Fallout 4. So it's possible they were in final stretch last year.

It looks like Fallout 3 took around 5 years, Skyrim took around 5 years, and Fallout 4 took around 6-7 years depending on how the teams were staggered. So if Starfield has been in development since the Fallout 4 DLC was done, that means it will have been in development like 4 years as of late 2020. And that's without factoring in the pandemic. I think predicting a launch in 2021 is pretty optimistic, I think 2022 is more likely.

What is Starfield? Just Elder Scrolls in outer space?

Yeah, it's even using the same engine that they've been using since Oblivion lol

Got through REmake 3 a lot faster this time, with a lot less saves. I guess my first time through I was still so used to saving at every opportunity like in RE1.

The opening sequence for RE6 is pretty sick. I don't know why I was expecting this to be so much more dated than it is, I had to remind myself that this came out around the same time as the first of the Tomb Raider reboot.

edit: Leon is voiced by Matt Mercer in this? lol
a quick wiki-ing found that the Japanese voice actors are much more consistent from game to game.

I would assume that Starfield was in production before Fallout 4 in some capacity, no? Seems weird to assume the other games were in production staggered but not Starfield. I'd imagine it went into full production, both teams, after Fallout 4 but had a dedicated team well before then.

But it's all a guess, who knows. Maybe with MS acquisition they'll take longer haha.

I would assume that Fallout 76 was that game, right? That was in development pre-Fallout 4? You forgot that one on your list lol
