Not sure. Just killed the song for me

I love this band. But what is it about the intro that feels like someone trying to be deep and coming off like a try-hard.

I think if I didn't play the hell out of most of the singles on this already I'd be enjoying it more.

I very purposefully haven't listened to singles for pretty much any album recently because of this exact reason. This album feels so fresh to me and I am loving it today.

  5. Same. I stopped listening to pre-release tracks more than once or twice for almost every band I know I already like.

  6. Went in without hearing any of the singles, and I really love this, especially the last couple songs.

    The rivalry is back on

I enjoyed my listen of the 5 pre-release singles a couple weeks ago more than I enjoyed the full album listen, but there’s some cool stuff on here

After “one phone call”, I stopped listening for the same reason. I still love the first album so I’ve just been chewing on that plus the first two singles until the full thing dropped

First record hits wayyyy harder for me. This is good, but doesn’t reach the level of the first one for me at all.

After listening to this on the soundbar, I’m in love with this record. This record is so ridiculous in the best way. I love that he went full ‘80s and everything works together. Martin did a really nice job building a world for you to visit. something to take your mind off COVID for sure

I just love that when I listen I hear Petty, Springsteen, prince, and so many others clear as day in the songs.

Yup this will be up there with my AOTY contenders.

The production on this is insane.

Fun fact: a bunch of these songs were co-written and co-produced with Ryland, the guitarist formerly of Cobra Starship

I’m so glad I didn’t overplay the singles, but I Feel Like Dancing is fucking incredible

    Things have changed.

The band is markedly better this time around. The bass, in particular, it’s just truly incredible through this entire record. Sean Hurley a legend.

Agreed. I absolutely love the live vids from the last album cycle, the band added so much. Their shows are going to be insane

I think it’s a completely different group of players from the last album

I prefer a handful of the remixes to the original but it’s dope either way

Which remixes? I haven't tried any of them!

I may have missed something but where's that other guy gone (the guitarist)? Or is it just Martin on his own now? Or was it always Martin on his own? Where am I?!

the guitarist (Kieran J Callinan) is off doing his own project because his cowboys screaming in the hill song (Big Enough) blew up.

izzy is their current guitarist and also who plays on the album

Listening now. Deleted that opening track immediately, haha. Don't Stop Dancing is good!

On the Elle King song. Killer chorus on this, reminds me of like 00s U2. I don't get down with some of the lyrics on this and some parts are a bit too much, but this song and "Dancing" are very good.

Yeah, the opening track is not something I need to hear again.
