I just listened and holy shit I think she’s right, this is the best song she has recorded wow. I loved it. Very hyped for the new LP now.

The other times I’ve listened were at shows and I don’t have a ton of memories other than saying the song is good after hearing it live.

I don’t think I’ve ever been hit harder by a Lucy Dacus song (or many other songs, for that matter) when I heard it live. This holds true for the low quality vhs “rip”. Absolutely flooring.

I read that Matador was hoping the song got leaked, kind of like the Hayley Williams situation where she gave her new song to a fan and she said they could leak it.

I don’t know how true that is but it seems plausible.

 

The song coming out this week seems likely with an album announcement as well. I run a fan group for Lucy on Facebook and her parents are in the group and they confirmed Thumbs is on the album recently but didn’t give any other details.

 

Gonna need to mix this up with Julien in my music for the week.
