I really want to get a first out of him in the deal and I think he's worth it

If you decide to come down off a 1st, I'd offer a 2nd and a player for him. I'm bad so I'm always picking top 16 which is why I won't give a first for him.

 

Yeah, it's probably because it's expanded rosters. The lower guys don't count against your cap. Only the top 53 salaries do. If you go over to net savings and it says 0 then cutting one of them won't help you. Make sure you have a cap savings of his salary if you cut them.

 

If you cut your scrub players in the pre-season when your roster is over 53 players you won't save cap from it. You cap is based on the top 53 contracts.

Like I said above, I'm pretty sure you'll only see actual cap savings in the top 53 contracts. So if it's some scrub making less than a mil and you have over 53 players, he's likely not going to save you anything.

 

Even if I'm in the salaries section looking at the savings tab described as player release net savings!?

I feel you, my whole thing is that he's actually good so I'd rather keep him unless I end up with a first in the deal, same with peters, but I can't move peters though cause it's like a 4m penalty

 

4M isn't bad penalty at all, that's easily moveable.....
