It's going to be a complete scrap of 2020 lineups. Booking logistics are going to be super complex when shit resumes.

I don’t think anyone in here is saying it is, it’s more to see who’s moving things and who’s sticking with it.

Like it’s been stated, fall calendars are being booked now in the chance that they can happen in some capacity. People need to get used to it

Fall is going to happen. As long a vaccination becomes standard I see it.

Elements Fest in PA released their lineup for Sept and have already sold out some accommodations and the first tier of tickets.

Being a smaller, home grown electronic focused fest might work in their favor. Diplo, Bonobo, Bob Moses, Claude VonStroke and Chris Lake are all confirmed.

This is the same feat that had a couple small events last summer that required negative rapid tests at the gate to get in. They said testing isn’t confirmed for the Sept edition, but they may require vaxx cards or go back to a rapid test model.

    MA just updated their rules…

1.Phase 3, Step 2: Effective March 1st, the Commonwealth will move forward into Phase 3, Step 2.
    This will reopen:

    • Indoor performance venues such as concert halls, theaters, and other indoor performance spaces: Open at 50% capacity with 500 person max

Exactly. I do not think repeatedly saying none of this is happening is useful. This is the tour thread, so people are going to post about tours and festivals being announced. If they don't happen, they'll get postponed or cancelled, but there's no harm in events being planned and people having things to hopefully look forward to.

That dude is a total MAGA head, so it's surprising he wasn't doing full venue shows already.

I look forward to going to concerts again and hearing/reading about tours just as much as the next person, but until I see a dramatic change in attitude/action from a huge demographic of our country (I don't know, say, 74+million people) that aren't "COVID is a Hoax' people and aren't anti-Covid Vaccine, then I have no reason whatsoever to believe that we will get to a point that resembles any type of remote normalcy for concerts in the next year or so.

So yeah, when I see news on large-scale festivals trying to plan for Summer/Fall, that's all great and all, but...it ain't happening. I don't post 'none of this is happening, folks' to be a dick. I post it out of frustration at how half of the country has chosen to react and respond to COVID/COVID vaccine/false information spreaders and the people who just try to turn a blind eye to it all (not aimed at anyone here) and expect/demand that things return to normal ASAP.

I'm with you and see the point but I still like to be hopeful. The festival owl mentioned that fests could happen in the fall. I trust that guy a lot so if he thinks it's possible I say it's possible. Also a mini fest is happening in April in orlando in the edm circuit was just announced and sold out in 2 hours. So the demand is definitely there

Of course the demand is there...but that's the problem. My guess is (almost) any artist on earth can announce a show for tomorrow night and there would be enough idiots who don't care about masks/social distancing/COVID/etc that would sell the place out. It's already happened several times since last summer. It's the same thing when you see packed bars/night clubs on the news/social media. People are doing it and that's been part of my frustration for the past 6-8 months.

It's about doing it responsibly though, and we're a LONG ways away from that.

Proof of vaccination. You can’t come if you’re not vaccinated. Watch how many people change their stance when that happens.

I’m getting it as soon as it becomes available to me either through my job or general public with what group I fall in. I don’t want to have to deal with any of that stuff if it somehow becomes a thing but they’ve been radio silent on that for months since it was first brought up.

TBH, at a certain point... You can't let the people who refuse to get vaccinated dictate how the rest of us get to live our lives.

The goal should be to ensure that everyone who wants to get the vaccine has fair and open access. After that it has to be on them if they opt out. I'm sure there will some sort of acceptable threshold for the number of people vaccinated versus not before things open up. Whether or not we're all comfortable with that number is a whole other thing...

Admittedly, the number of people in my extended social circle who are anti-vax or COVID deniers is pretty slim, but there have been a handful. Most of them started out the pandemic saying things like they would never get a vaccine or tested for one reason or another. But when that become a requirement to do something they really wanted to do? They changed their tune super quickly.

Maybe that's too optimistic a take, but from what I've seen? A lot of people will change their tune once it becomes a reality.

I saw Sugar Ray open for Smash Mouth at a festival in 2018, and they actually put on a really fun show.
