There's been an abundance of great films every year for the last decade. There's a ton of great tv out too. We're living in a blessed time.

  4. There's actually so much great stuff that sometimes I don't know where to begin so I just watch something I've watched 100 times

There are definitely as many, if not more, great films now than last years. If we’re talking major studio films than yeah, maybe you have a point.

i wish there were a way to just watch all of the main arc stuff on CW shows. Like, just give me an hour and a half of the Reverse Flash story.

I wish Lost was only like 10/12 episodes a season. Those first three seasons keep me from wanting to rewatch it.

Heard about it but never saw. Basically if there is a great film, it’s an A24. I’ll definitely check it out.

It is brutal. Be brave. Things get brighter but it’s a long intense journey.

Like all Wachowski productions, everything is in place for it to be phenomenal. There are even truly transcendent moments (a karaoke sing-a-long being peak among them), but there are also just some truly bad decisions in pacing/plotting and some very not-so-good acting, either. They were planning on a five season story arc, and it shows with how it all suddenly ends... but they did themselves no favors at all with the pacing of the second season to get renewed for the cost (it cost more per episode than Game of Thrones to make, iirc). The representation and presentation of the "linking" was very refreshing, but it promises far more than it ever delivers.

I definitely got into it way more half way through season 1. Season two next weekend probs. I don’t love the hackers but I fuck with everyone else for the most part story wise.

I feel Marty on the whole "content + algorithmic" trend in media consumption feeling hollow. Idk throw enough shit against the wall and something will eventually stick, yes some great projects will happen but there will be a lot to sift through

I also tend to think that the ever growing split between what sells tickets and what is considered great art reflects all the other divides developing in society. This is across all mediums from books to movies to tv shows to music. The rejection of critics by the masses has hurt the production of a great art as much as the rejection of the masses by the critics strengthens the divide. And then you have the people funding both sides wanting each thing to be the other.

George storyline in last season of Six Feet Under is absolutely gutting me. It's all I can think about while working lol. Ruth finding rotten food in his pockets, my god, that broke my heart.

I've gone back to Six Feet Under because of this thread and I've just started season 2 and I still think I've seen this. I thought I had only watched the first few episodes.

    Really enjoying it either way.

“Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry” is quite good. Part doc, part concert film. More vulnerable than I thought it would be. You get a good sense of how goofy and funny she is, while also feeling the massive pressure she/her family puts on her. If you’re a fan, it’s worth a watch.
