Is this the emptiest Green Day song ever

I don't know how it could get more stale than this. Even if this is just a b-side, feels like I shouldn't even bother anymore. Bummed.

 

Already stuck in my head. Love the Bowie reference in the bridge.

 

What are people even hoping for from them?

 

Literally anything but this or the trilogy. I don’t need Green Day to reinvent the wheel. Revolution Radio wasn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a hell of a lot better than this, and wasn’t the very definition of corny, obnoxious dad rock.

 

That video is some next level cringe.

What is the Bowie reference?

 

Someone on Reddit said they like this song more than anything on FOAM because there’s less clapping. Hahahaha siiiiigh.

 

I wish he's stop putting that fucking effect on his vocals. The dude has one of the most iconic and recognizable vocals in rock'n'roll and now he sounds like he sings into a megaphone the hole damn time.

 

Y'know, I don't hate it. Although, for a 2 and a half minute song, that chorus goes from annoying to moderately grating awfully quick. Not sure I'd ever decide to intentionally listen to it again, but it's probably better than about half of FOAM

Why wouldn’t a huge band that likely helped shape a lot of our musical tastes growing up get a strong reaction? That’s a weird take.

 

Probably because we're going on 20 years since they've released anything most people on this site (or even fans) would consider great. Revolution Radio was cool and fine, but that's part for the course when it comes to anything after American Idiot

 

I don't hate it but it sounds like a recycled song they could've written in their sleep.

 

Sounds perfect for a sports anthem played between commercial breaks.
